I was starting to wake up fully—that meant that I was actually using my brain and that I was starting to realize that I didn't know who this stranger was, and why he was carrying me. I started to really dislike him because he was handling me like I needed help. Why on Traumwelt would I ever need to be carried?! I could look after myself and I would have gotten out of the situation with the trolls without this useless stranger's help. I started to move. Then I felt a huge pain in my head and my chest. I remembered that the small troll knocked me unconscious with his club. He must have also hit my ribs just to be sure. Ughh.
Yes, because I am part Elf, it does mean that I heal quickly but that doesn't mean that my injuries don't hurt.
I would just have to play "unconscious" for a little bit longer before I could make a plan to get out of this stranger's grasp. Unfortunately, he felt me try to get up and said,
"Don't worry, you're safe Azlin, go back to sleep," in a calming voice. As if that would calm me! He knew my name!
