Basically the reader arrives as a new member of the BAU profiling team...and Spencer doesn't quite know how to act around her.

Derek Morgan leaned over Spencer Reid's desk, a sly smirk on his lips, which meant that he was up to no good. The BAU was expecting a new addition to their team that morning, and Morgan was ecstatic that it was a woman. Mainly because he was hoping that Spencer would try to hook up with her, that is, not until he tried his hand at flirting it up with her first.
"So, pretty boy," he started, "I hear this new arrival's gonna be here at 11:00. Someone's gotta take her to lunch; we can't let her go by herself, now can we?"
Before the doctor could give anything more than a confused look, Emily Prentiss stepped in. "Exactly, Morgan. Which is why we're all going to take her to lunch." She gave Morgan a pointed look, which quickly crumbled into a smile when the former cop faked hurt and offered a mock stab to the heart.
"I'm excited to meet her," JJ said from her desk, swiping a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear. "From what I've heard, she's really sweet."
"She's also accomplished in the world of theater," Garcia rambled excitedly as she trotted up to her profiler friends. "She specializes in Disney productions, so she must be awesome!"
"Plus—" Emily piped up, tossing a few folders onto Morgan's desk— "Rossi said he knows her; apparently she's the daughter of a family friend, and we all know any friend of Rossi's is pretty cool." The others all nodded in agreement, and at that moment the elevator doors to floor 6 opened and out stepped SSA David Rossi and their newest member, Agent (Y/N) (L/N).
Morgan gave a low whistle, one that (L/N) and Rossi wouldn't be able to hear from their distance. He leaned down to Spencer and whispered something in his ear that the doctor almost didn't catch, but when he did, his cheeks lit up in a fiery blush.
"Don't say that about her, Morgan, that's crass," Spencer muttered, rearranging the pens on his desk.
"Everyone, this is Agent (Y/N) (L/N)," Rossi said with a smile. "She'll be coming along with us on our next case so she can dive right in to the job. (L/N), this is Morgan, Prentiss, JJ, Hotchner, and Dr. Reid." Rossi introduced the new member to the current members of the BAU team, and (Y/N)'s eyes were bright and sparkling with excitement.
"Hello, everyone! It's nice to meet you!" (Y/N) said excitedly in a singsong voice. It was easy to tell that she could play as a Disney princess; she was so bright and cheerful and full of cute colors and frills.
JJ moved forward into the group circle, her arms full of thick folders. "All right, we need to meet in the conference room."
The other profilers nodded and headed to a room up the stairs and across from the bullpen, and Rossi kept his hand on (Y/N)'s lower back, guiding her to the conference room. Morgan clapped Reid's shoulder, snapping the doctor out of his trance.
"So. Think she's worth the risk, kid?" he asked with a chuckle. Spencer shrugged, his eyes still fixed on (Y/N), and Derek grinned when he noticed that his young friend couldn't tear his gaze away from her.
"Um..." Spencer gulped and eventually turned his head to make eye contact with Derek. "Yeah, maybe..."
"Come on," Morgan laughed, "let's go see what this new case is." He guided Reid into the conference room, and shortly afterwards they were preparing to board the jet.
Spencer wanted desperately to talk to (Y/N), but the very thought of approaching her made his stomach clench and his palms become sweaty. But in spite of all that, he nervously made his way to (Y/N)'s desk where she was double-checking her go bag.
"Hey, um, (Y/N)," he greeted, trying desperately to make eye contact with her. "I um, realized that I hadn't properly introduced myself, um...earlier—" he swallowed thickly, and his Adam's apple bobbed— "My—my name is Spencer Reid. Uh, Doctor Spencer Reid, but you can just call me Spencer."
"Oh! Well, it's nice to properly meet you, Spencer," she said with a dazzling smile, holding out her hand for him to shake. Usually shaking hands was something that Spencer refused to take part in, but just this once he made an exception for the woman he'd apparently fallen for. He almost hesitantly reached out and grabbed her hand, and was surprised at how strong her handgrip was. For someone so sweet and delicate-looking, she had quite the grip.
"I'm (Y/N) (L/N), not a doctor." Her giggles caused Spencer to laugh as well, and he began to feel more relaxed. "But my fellow thespians call me by whatever character I'm playing. Usually a Disney princess."
Spencer's eyebrows shot up into his hairline. "Really? That's got to be pretty official, then."
"Oh yes, very," she nodded. She slung the strap of her go bag over her shoulder and started to head out the way the other teammates had gone, Spencer right on her heels. Speaking of heels...
"How do you walk in those?" Spencer's voice reflected his shock and awe as he took in the sight of (Y/N)'s 5" heels, which she seemed to have no trouble walking in.
(Y/N) laughed, turning around to see her new coworker's astonished face. "It's not so hard once you get used to it." She twirled back to face the direction they were headed, and Spencer trotted up to (Y/N)'s side once he realized that he'd fallen a bit behind, his pace having slowed down when his eyes met hers.
The young doctor didn't know much about relationships or how they worked (aside from statistics, which even he knew wasn't everything), but he could tell that this could turn into something pretty great.
