Gena does my makeup while my mom does my hair and Nina guards the door to make sure that no one comes in. I’m supposed to be a surprise. Masky, Lucas, Dad, and Ben have all tried to sneak a peek but Nina didn’t let that happen. Once all the boys are done getting ready, they leave in a limo they rented and Masky said something about a carriage coming to get us girls. After they left Nina came inside my room and locked the door just in case. Once the others were done with me they put on their dresses, which were a lot less formal than mine.

“Am I really supposed to be this dressed up? I mean you guys are wearing cocktail dresses and I’m wearing a ball gown.” I stare in the mirror at my beautiful dress. It’s a light blue with sparkles that start at the bottom and begin to disappear as it goes up my dress. The bottom that touches the ground looks almost like mist as it disappears. It’s strapless with a sweetheart neckline and is a puffy ball gown.

“Don’t worry; there will be many other girls who have on ball gowns like you. We are supposed to be wearing more casual attire because we aren’t up for grabs. I’m married and these two are only guests, everyone else will be in nicer attire.”

I sigh and look around for my shoes, “Shit, we bought shoes didn’t we?”

“Uh, no we didn’t.” Gena says as she puts her shoes on.

“The one thing I forgot to buy.” I laugh.

Mom turns to me, “Make some diamond slippers.”

I smile, “This is why you’re my mother.” I sit on my bed and make some diamond heels that look almost identical to Cinderella’s. “Now if I only had my hair up in a bun I’d be Cinderella.”

“Do you want me to, we have time.”

“No, I like my hair down and curled, I like how casual it looks.” We wait another five minutes before hearing a knock on the door. We go and meet the carriage driver who just so happened to be Laughing Jack.

He smiles and helps me into the carriage, “Happy birthday Anabelle. You’re 18 now right?”

“I think.” I laugh as he helps everyone in. It makes sense that our driver would be another Creepypasta, why would the guys have a human come to our house?

Once we start on our way Nina turns to me, “Are you nervous?”

I squeeze her hand, “Absolutely terrified.” It was true. My stomach felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before, my head felt light, and this all felt like a dream. “I know Masky was trying to be sweet by spoiling me like this but it’s just making things worse.” I laugh a little, “God he is such a pain.”

“Ever since he was born he was a little trouble maker once he got used to you. He’s shy at first but then causes trouble all while trying to help.” We talk the rest of the way to the ball. When we arrive we walk up a beautiful stair case to the big double doors. “What is this place?”

“It’s a privately owned event center, all the creepypastas own it. The most we use it for are meetings but every once and a while we have ball here for our youth.” Mom says and I smile as a man dressed in white opens the doors for me. I walk in and go to the music. I end up at the top of another stair case that descends on two sides of the ballroom. I look out at the crowd and can see everyone. I stand at the top and take in the beauty. Many other girls my age are dressed up, the music is being played by some professionals at the bottom center of the ballroom, and all of my house mates are dressed up nicely. I look around for Masky’s messy hair but can’t seem to find it. Dad must have made him comb it back or something. I notice my dad without a problem. I mean he’s like 12 feet tall. I smile at him and he walks up the stairs to meet me.

“Hi Daddy.” I say softly and he takes my hand.

He guides me to the center of the balcony that looks over the room, “Annabelle has arrived.”

The whole room breaks out in a cheer as my father begins to walk me down the stairs, “What do I do once I reach the bottom?” I ask.

“You’re likely to be asked a lot of questions; people are very interested about you. You are a legend.”

I laugh a little, “Legend? I don’t think so.”

“Well you are my daughter, the only half breed to have all four elements and several abilities with that. Plus you aren’t too bad looking either so you’re likely to get asked to dance by more than just Masky.”

I sigh, “He’s not gonna like that.” I laugh a little. When we reach the bottom of the stairs he lets go of my hand and then goes back up the stairs to walk down with Mom. I take a deep breath with my first step. I slowly navigate around the crowd, answering questions every once and a while. As I walk through the crowd I find a group of girls surrounding something. I might as well go and see what is happening. I go up to the group and can hear things like, “How come you got so hot?” and “Why aren’t you mine?” and “You look so nice without your mask.” I laugh a little and the group of girls turns to face me in surprise. I see Masky from in the group and smile, “Excuse me ladies but can I steal my boyfriend from you? I know he looks great but I don’t think he needs every girl in the room telling him so.”

Some of the girls laugh a little and others glare at me. I’m guessing the ones that laughed are here because of their boyfriends and the ones that were glaring were here because they wanted a man. I take his hand and he smiles. He bows, “Will you have this dance?”

I laugh a little, “I have no clue how to ball dance.”

He looks at me a little shocked, “Well we are all murderers but we know how to. So I guess I’ll have to teach you before the guys take you and you embarrass yourself.”

I laugh, “So you aren’t gonna be jealous when they dance with me?”

“Only if you don’t get jealous when I dance with other girls.”

“Don’t kiss them and I’ll be fine.” I smile as he kisses me lightly. I catch on to the whole dancing thing really quickly.

“You look amazing, I almost started crying actually.” He says and I laugh.

“Really? Well you look pretty sharp yourself, mister.” He laughs and then Jeff taps on his shoulder.

“Hey can I dance with her for a sec?” He asks and I laugh.

Masky smiles at me and hands me over to Jeff, “I thought you wanted to kill me.” I say with a smile.

“Oh well that’s on normal days, today isn’t a normal day. It’s your birthday.”

I smile, “That sweet.”

“This is awkward isn’t it?” He asks and I laugh.

“Yeah, it really is, but thanks anyway.” I say and he smiles before BEN comes and dances with me. After BEN is Jack, Hoodie, Lucas, and Dad. After dancing with them I find Masky and hold his hand. “What do we do now?” I ask.

“We wait.” He says and almost right after he says that I hear someone over the microphone.

“Would all the couples please line up in the center of the ballroom.” We do as the voice says and wait. “We are going to do something super cheesy. I want every boy to turn to their girl and tell them why they love them then each girl will do the same. Ready. Set. Go.”

Masky turns to me and I don’t even dare look him in the eye, “I love everything. Why won’t you look at me?”

I look at him in the eye, “So I won’t cry.” I laugh awkwardly, “I uh love uh you.” He smiles at me and I can feel something wrong going on. He hugs me but my legs are going weak, “Masky, something is wrong.” My head aches, something is going to happen and it isn’t going to be good.
