                   Alex p.o.v

My daily routine was wake up, cook breakfast, get dressed, wake up Laurens, and then silently walk to class together. It never changed, never faltered, not even a little...but then there was a new guy.
----
"John."

Alex softly shook his freckled boyfriend.

"J-John, babe. It's time to get up....i made pancakes."

John groaned and rubbed his face.

"What time is it?"

"Five twenty-five."

He sighed,

"I hate getting up this damn early. Go set the table, I'll be down in a bit."

"Yes sir."
------

I sat down in my seat and watched as John got up to "use the bathroom". I already knew he was going to talk to Burr though. The two of them had been...fucking around for a while now.

It's not like it bothered me though. Who wouldn't like my Johnny? He was perfect.

As I waited for him to come back, the doors to the classroom swung open just as the bell rung, and I swear to Zeus the man that walked in was...perfect. His golden brown skin, his hair, his chocolate brown eyes...everything, but then he sat next to me and spoke. That's when things went wrong.

"Hey shortie. What your name?"

Shit

"Hun?"

I wasn't suppose to talk to new people, especially without John's permissions, and definitely not to this beautiful man with a voice like vel- No.

I mentally scolded myself for thinking of anyone but the love of my life and turned away from the new man.

What if Laurens found out what I was thinking? He be so angry...

I glanced at the man besides me once more. He seemed nice enough...it couldn't hurt just to speak, right? I think John would be proud I was making new friends...friends who weren't like my old ones...

"Alexander Hamilton...yours?"

"Thomas Jefferson. Nice to meet you."

I bit my lip glancing at Laur who was still taking to Burr.

"...likewise."

He grinned, "what's a pretty thang like you doing sitting all by himself?"

"Oh my boy- my friend is over there-"

I nodded in John's general direction.

"- He'll be back soon."

"Mh, of course. Well, do you mind if I keep you company while you wait for him to come back?"

Yes. Something about you is unsettling.

"N-no, that's fine."

He leaned back in his chair allowing light that shone through one of the windows to hit him beautifully.

"Wonderful."

We talked quietly for a moment and it was, nice. He was, nice, but then I saw Laurens walking back and I went in to full on panic mode.

I thought John would be proud of me making new friends, bit he wouldn't, why would he? He'd be mad. I had made a stupid, stupid, mistake."

I didn't want to stop talking to the nice man, I didn't want to lose him, so, I did the only logical thing I could think of and slid my number into his hand with the message "shh" underneath, and then quickly moved into John's seat.

When Laurens finally reached us he completely ignored Jefferson and stared at me, confused.

"Why are you in my seat?"

I rubbed the back of my neck nervously,

"The new guy tried to talk to me...and didn't want to do something you didn't like."

He nodded,

"Mh, okay. Good boy"

Once class started I could feel Jefferson staring at me. I tried to ignore it for as long as I could but the feeling started to get, uncomfortable.

I looked at him and he mouthed, "WHAT is wrong" in a very dramatic manner and I mouthed "nothing, text me later" back with a few hand motions thrown in. Laurens glanced at me and I quickly looked down at my desk. Once he looked away I felt my phone vibrate and I looked down at it.

727-869-****: Hey, from the guy two seats down. ✌🏾😙

I grinned to myself. I still had the poofy haired man.

Thomas Jefferson
