CHAPTER SEVEN
BULLDOGS VS SERPENTS!

"HE'S WHAT, REGGIE?" ADELAINE EXCLAIMED.

"He's going to the Southside, tagging the Serpent turf, that kind of shit." He repeated shaking his head. "The Bulldogs aren't going, though. We disbanded the Red Circle, it's just Andrews now."

Adelaine shook her head in disbelief. She thought yelling at him in the hallways would knock some sense into his head, but clearly like everything does, it went one ear and out the other.

"Does he really think it's a Serpent?"

"Addie, I mean, those thugs are pretty suspicious—"

"Not you too, Reggie! Tell me you don't believe that!"

"I can't help but to believe that, Addie! Wasn't one of them involved in Jason's murder?"

"Then explain how a Serpent got my address! Because I know Betty and I certainly aren't just throwing it around! And don't you dare accuse Jughead."

Reggie sighed, running a hand through his hair, and pulled the girl into a hug. "I just- I just want this town safe, Addie. I want my friends safe, I want you safe."

"Well you're not going to be able to do that, going around and accusing people left and right. You need to stay safe too, Reginald." Adelaine kissed his cheek softly, and Reggie her forehead, and the two parted ways.

As Adelaine turned down to a hallway, her eyes widened at the sight of the Vixens passing out white t-shirts with a large red target loud and proud in the middle of them. One of the Vixens shoved one in her hand, smiling as she does so.

"Is this a joke? Who thought this was a good idea?"

"Veronica Lodge." The girl shrugged, passing one to the next person.

"Of course." Adelaine rolled her eyes and threw the shirt to the ground, shoving her way through everyone to get to her next class.

"These symbols look so familiar to me." Betty frowned, staring at the code from the cipher the Black Hood sent her. "It's like I've seen them before, and it's driving me crazy that I can't remember where."

Adelaine, Betty, Kevin, Jughead, and Toni were all seated in Jughead's trailer, having a "code-breaking party." Adelaine didn't even know he sent a cipher to Betty until twenty minutes ago.

"Maybe if you loosened up your ponytail.." Toni drawled out, clearly being sarcastic. Adelaine started to laugh under her breath, but stopped as quickly as she started as everyone else just stared at Toni. "What? That was a joke, guys."

"Betty's ponytail is iconic, and beyond reproach." Kevin defended the ponytail, a serious look on his face.

"Kev, it's fine. At this point, I'm willing to try anything." Betty brushed the comment off, taking her hair out.
