A living star combusts and in its wake she becomes the heir to fire and ashIN THE BEGINNING
Azúla Polaris
Wisdom had not reached its peak in my life at the young age of sixteen. I was a mischievous malevolent child who sought for trouble. I was troublesome during my youth, making it quite difficult for my parents seeing as I was their only child.
"My child, Azúla must I warn you once again about playing with those knives" my mother sighed. Her dark eyes glanced over my figure briefly before she returned her gaze back to the manuscript she was reading.
A smirk played on my lips as I twirled around with the dagger balancing on my finger tips. Its sharp pointed tip danced on the flesh, before it finally curtsied into the palm of my hand.
"Must you always worry mother, your hair will start greying the more you worry" I countered, which only made her sigh deeper.
"You're just like your father" she frowned.
"What's so wrong about that Arza? She has your beauty and our daughter is just as adventurous as her strong father, what more could we ask for" my father stated proudly, after entering the large cave. I watched as he approached my mother who was seated on the floor in front of a dark fire, placing a chaste kiss on her cheek before pecking her on the lips.
"Azúla does have my beauty and grace but she also lacks the sense to be wise while carrying out such stunts just like her father" she teased.
"Mother?!" I gasped.
"Don't take offense my child, you know your mother means no harm" my father smiled." Besides Arza, you have no need to be worried over our daughter, she is a strong soldier"
"That she is" my mother smiled.
It wasn't my fault
I wanted to go back but I couldn't
I wished I hadn't left
And yet I did.
I had gone out for my daily training out into the vast forests of my home planet Kairun. Holding the various blades in my pocket I had ventured into the dark mysterious woods, which was off limits for us youths. I never listened and this time I wish I did.
I had stumbled across what appeared to be an abandoned house, its exterior had completely deteriorated leaving nothing but clutter and torn down stone walls behind. However upon entering, it was like I had enetered a completely different world.
"Lost child"
The voice. It was bone chillingly cold, with a hint of bitterness at the tip of its tongue. I could taste the toxicity and grimness emitting from the figure which had emerged from the darkness. How I wish it would return to the dark pit from which it came.
The sight of the figure alone made me want to run away. Her, if I could even identify it as a female stood at a height of 6"0 which was seen as quite short on Kairun, her sickly pale skin glistened under the bright light of the moons, as the sound of her dark black boils bubbling echoed in the rotting room. Her boney long fingers darted through the cold air in grotesque angles which made me want to cower in a corner.
I could no longer stare into her empty eyes, her eye sockets were crawling with poisonous monstrosities, some of which she occasionally pulled out to feast on when peckish. Her jaw was wide and her teeth were elongated, jagged and unevenly pointy.
"N-No, I'm truly sorry for trespassing, I-I was just curious-"
"Curious?!" I gulped as the word darted from her serpent like tongue. I watched in fear as her black tongue flicked against her thin chapped lips." What were you so curious about child" a shiver ran down my spine, the way she spat out the word child in such hatred made me fear for my life.
"I apologize" I whispered.
I couldn't tell if she was even looking at me when she tilted her head to the side. My heart beat sped up when she abruptly pounced on top of me, bringing me to the ground in an instant. I could taste her odor, the smell was so profound I knew it would forever be embedded into my senses.
"You've made quite the mistake my dearie, I do not like guests especially when they are uninvited" she caressed my cheek with her sharp brown broken nails, before stopping over my heart.
"I usually get rid of uninvited guests, but there is something very special about you child and because of this I shall give you a gift" she rose up from above me, pulling me along with her.
"Haven't you heard of the story my child, the story about the House of Pollux?" I was frozen in fear once she had me pressed against the wall with the flick of her hand. "When I ask a question child, I expect an answer seeing as you're so curious. Or has that spirit left you so suddenly" she snarled.
"I-I haven't heard the story" I told her truthfully.
"Well then let me enlighten you before everything turns to ash," she grinned, flashing her dark rotting teeth.
"There was once a girl much like yourself, who was curious and troublesome. However her unyielding curiosity led to her peoples untimely demise as she was marked by a Chaotic evil" I nervously glanced around the dark room, searching for the woman who had vanished into thin air after summarizing the story.
"That girl was me, my child. I've grown tired of such powers and you are a very agreeable suitor so I must pass my gifts onto you" her long hands wrapped around my wrists in a tight grip." My people had warned me countless times, my mother especially and yet I did not listen"
Her hands began to glow a dark red with a orange hue surrounding it. I let out a loud wail as her grip tightened around my wrist, knowing deep down that it would leave an unexplainable mark. It felt like my flesh was being carved into and burned from both the inside and out.
"A lesson you must learn on your travels, as my mother once told me," she grinned.
Do not play with fire my child for you will be branded with a tumultuous evil
