"Mom, what if I get jumped or something on the way there?" I tried to over exaggerate every chance I got, but my mother was still making me go to school.

"You'll be fine. You're strong enough." She smiled, obviously very pleased with her sarcastic comment.

"Isn't it weird though? I'm a senior at a brand new school in a completely unfamiliar country. "

After a few rude remarks were exchanged between my mother and I , I headed to school, deciding not to face the fact that she had won that fight.

I decided to send my best friend, and boyfriend, Michael, who is back home in a America, a message telling him that I was off to my first day. I told him about the argument this morning, although it wasn't a big deal, he still liked to know these kinds of things. He always says that the key to a strong long distance relationship is good communication, but i think he just made that up.

Michael and I have been dating since sophomore year, but we've been best friends since we were seven. We weren't that stereotypical best friend/boyfriend and girlfriend type of thing. We are everlasting. We agreed on that. Michael and I don't plan to break up unless we know that it's the best for both of us. We've been inseparable since we were children, so I'm not letting 9,445.77 miles get in the way of us, no matter how hard it is.

I walked into the administrations office to grab a copy of my schedule, when I bump into a brick wall with blonde hair that stands about three feet high.

"Jesus Christ, can't you watch where you're going!" He shouted at me as if it was my fault but his head was turned around watching a girl with a little less than enough pieces of clothing on.

"Yeah, sorry. It was my bad." I looked down to the ground, breaking the intense eye contact and continued walking when the my arm was pulled back, jerking me backwards and into the tall boy once again.

"No, don't be sorry. I wasn't looking. I'm Luke, and you're new?" He looked at me as if he was examining my features to make sure he wasn't mistaken about his previous assumption of me being new.

"Yeah it's my first year in Australia. I'm Saylor." He probably could tell I wasn't from here, based on my accent, but I felt the need to tell him anyways.

"Well I guess I'll see you around, Saylor. It was a pleasure meeting you." He sent me a cheeky grin and strolled away, while leaving me with my confused self and my confused thoughts.
