Makoto kept staring at Kaito, feeling concerned about her body. It was a little too windy and a little too shady for just a towel to help her feel dry. She needed a change of clothes.
He kept staring until she and Gou disappeared under the little changing area, and he went back to
swimming, still concerned about her.
"Here you go, Kaito-kun!", Gou chimed, handing her the towel.
She took it, and rubbed her face and hair, getting rid of some water.
"Thanks, Gou.", Kaito said, not bothering to look at her.
She felt like such an idiot. How could she have not seen the hose in front of her? Did she step over it the first time? Kaito didn't remember seeing a green hose on the ground.
"Kaito-kun? Kaito-kun? Are you okay?", Gou kept asking.
Kaito had finally heard her after talking to herself about her idiotic mishap.
"Yeah.. Yeah, I'm okay. I'm.. uh.. gonna go dry my bra as best as I can. Don't let any of the boys see me.", Kaito replied.
Gou nodded her head, and went back to keep the boys distracted, which didn't take much, since they were still swimming. Kaito put the towel on the small, cubby hole shelf, and quickly slipped off her shirt and, then her bra. She set in her cubby hole, where a good breeze could dry it from where she was standing. A swift breeze swept across her chest, causing her to shiver. She didn't want to put back on her wet, collared t-shirt, but she didn't have a choice. She wouldn't want the guys to see her bare chested! As much as she despised it, she put back on the t-shirt, the water all soaked in still yet, giving it a heavy feel. She wrapped the towel back around herself again, and stepped back outside in the slightly chilly weather. Gou had already noticed her coming out of the little changing area, and now focused only on the boys' swimming times.
Kaito stood there, freezing. She desperately wanted a change of clothes. But she knew she didn't have any. Gou kept eyeing her every once and a while, and she looked like she really wanted to home, but she wanted to stay with them. Gou was now determined to keep Kaito happy, especially with all the troubling stuff she had experienced earlier in her life.
"We're cutting practice a little short today, so right now, I want you to swim as fast as you can! 5 laps! Back and forth! Do it for Kaito-kun!", the maroon-color haired girl pointed to Kaito as she said the last part.
Gou had caught her attention, and smiled her way. She looked towards the other boys, and they all had a smile on their faces, except for Haru of course, before they all swam as fast as they could, five laps, back and forth. Kaito smiled wide. They really were all of her most best friends in the world.
Haru, Makoto, Nagisa and Rei had gotten out of the pool, and Gou handed them all towels, and praised them for their hard work. Kaito started to make her way to her cubby hole already, and she hoped that her bra was somewhat dry already.
Makoto had already stopped paying attention to Gou, and had directed his attention to Kaito, who still looked sad and soaking. He rubbed the towel around his hair, his focus still on her. He started to feel really concerned now. But, there wasn't anything he could really do about it.
The four boys walked into the little changing area, and they all found Kaito sitting down, in her soaking clothes, waiting for them. They were all concerned for her, yes, but Makoto had the most concern. It was in his personality to care for other people, preferably Haru, but he had grown on Kaito. More than he should have, really. He really wanted to make her feel better. But, yet again, what could he do about it? He dismissed the thought for a bit, pulling out a blue shirt he was going to change into.
He stared at it as he held it. Only one word came to his mind: Dry. The shirt was dry, and a little warm, since it had been packed tightly in his backpack. This is what Kaito needed; a dry shirt. An idea finally sparked inside his head.
