Weeks went by and Medusa had kept her word. She didn't enter the room once, letting him suffer in solitude. She had Free visit him once a day, only to feed Stein and torture him after. He would feel the pain of rejection he always made her feel. After all, he was nothing more than a mere human. And humans were weak in her eyes, he was no different, regardless of how she felt for him.

Yet, as the hours of everyday slowly passed away, Stein couldn't help but to feel hurt. Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to days, it was an eternal life of utter darkness.

He did his best not to think of anything important that might be used against him, any sign of weakness, any soft spot. But he couldn't help but to wonder... Why was no one looking for him? Where was Spirit? Lord Death? Marie...?

Stein understood that perhaps at first, no one would notice him gone, but it's been weeks now...and here he was. Did no one care? He couldn't help but to chuckle at the irony. When he heard the door open, Stein was expecting Free once more but was surprised to hear someone else. He clenched his fists and pulled at the chains that were holding him against the wall.

"Do you miss me Stein.?" A soft voice called from the light that entered through the door. He looked up at once and automatically pulled away from the chains. "Marie..?" He asked, as tears fell from his eyes.

"Marie, you came." He whispered weakly. The blonde woman smiled and walked up to him, touching his face gently and running her hands over the scars on his chest. "My my, you look awful...." She whispered.

"You have no idea what I've been through. It's a living hell in here... I missed you.." stein admitted looking at the blonde woman skeptically. She smiled and pulled his face closer to hers so she could kiss him. He kissed her back, allowing he kiss to deepen until she pulled away.

"I missed you too....my little lab rat" The blonde woman answered with a frown, it didn't take Stein long to realize that it was medusa the entire time. The 30 days were up. Angry and hurt she slapped him and pushed him back. She had found his weakness, and it was some mortal weakling of human.

Stein had let his guard down, and let her in his mind, where medusa could clearly see his affections. Not only that, but she used her magic to make him think he was seeing the woman he loved. medusa looked at Stein and crossed her arms, "summit to me." She ordered

stein laughed and shook his head in disbelief, "that was a dirty trick...even for you." He hissed, only earning another slap from her. He knew he made a mistake, and let his guard down, now she knew everything. "Can't you see? I can never love someone like you." He countered.

Medusa smiled and gently stroked his face, "can't you see.?" She whispered "that I now hold the life your weak human girl?" She asked smirking. "Summit to me Stein, or I will kill her, and I assure you this, I will not be give her a merciful death."
