Adalina R. Vasquez//
Next Day; 7:30 P.M.
"Lina!" I heard yelling through the house. I was sitting in the kitchen working on my College Algebra while I was waiting on Ashley, Carmen's mom, to come and pick her up. She was was just upstairs in the nursery that hadn't been altered since my mom lived here. She planned on having Ashton and Lani here, but of course they ended up moving so the room is just set up for a boy and girl twins.
I grabbed the baby monitor and hooked it to my hip while I walked out the kitchen and into the living room.
"Hey Xena."
"Good you're here I thought you weren't for a hot ass second. Bitch I'm upset."
"Why are you upset?" I asked while she unzipped her hoodie and sat down Kylan's car seat.
"Okay so me and Timmothy got into it last night after you left."
"Shocker."
"I know right, we barely argue, but this time he real life wasn't having my shit."
"What'd you do?"
"Well we were just having a conversation about him going to college and what the future holds for us. I was just stating facts and he got mad! Lina the nigga left last night and didn't come back. I saw him at school today and he just walked the other way. Didn't even ask a butch if I wanted help with the car seat. Like he's proving my point already and doesn't even notice it."
"It must've been bad if he's ignoring you. Were you staying facts or were you making assumptions?"
"A little bit of both?" She asked while looking everywhere but at me.
"Yeah okay, assumptions it is."
"Okay maybe it was a little more of assumptions than the truth." I said while she started walking around with Kylan. "But that's beside the point. He hasn't seen his son all day! I had to take Kylan to my nana's house just because Timmothy wouldn't answer the phone for me when it was time for me to go to work."
"Xena what did you say to that young man?" I asked while lightly laughing and sitting on the couch.
"I simply just told him that both of us going to college won't work out."
"It won't, but continue."
"Thank you! Somebody who understands me!"
"Though I need to hear his point too because sometimes you can just be being an asshole."
"Wooww, Thanks Lina."
"You're welcome! Now keep going."
"Well like he's getting all these offers and scholarships from all over the place and I'm really happy for him, but what about Kylan? The only time he would get to see Timmothy is when he's on breaks, and when your on breaks in college all you want to do is party. Nobody wants the responsibility of a child at that point. I just feel like itll be a bunch of excuses and he won't ever see him."
