"If you could get to anywhere in the universe by tomorrow, where would you go?"
"Hmm... Where are you going to be tomorrow?"
Platform 9 ¾ was in it is usual state on the 1 of September - overly crowded. How could it be any other way on the day young witches and wizards would make their way back to Hogwarts? Students ranking from young to a little older, hugging their families goodbye, reuniting with friends, but most importantly, overly excited for their return towards what was like a second home to most.
Among them, Victoria spotted familiar faces, most greeting her and pulling her into a small talk that was bout to be only a couple of seconds long as there were enough people for everyone to catch up with. The girl had already caught side of her dormmats, those having promised to catch up on the girls night they would spent back in their dorm, especially important on their first night back.
Everything was like usual. There were the ones glowing with excitement, some already radiating anxiety. Maybe for the sorting, maybe for the O.W.L.'s / N.E.W.T.'s - those who would attend for the first time, those for the last.
There was a house-elf pushing her lullage, the only security their family seemed to see, in a way of making sure the arrival at the train would really take place. The tawny owl on top of it chirping from time to time, almost seeming as excited to return to the owlery as some students seemed excited to return to Hogwarts.
Yet breaking the usual was Cayden Atkinson.
Walking next to his sister, the boy couldn't keep his eyes still for a single breath. Even then, when it wasn't his first time at the station, the boy was seen with almost the same reactions of those others seeing the scarlet train for the first time.
But picking up and bringing his sister to the platform occasionally over the years resulted in no change. He wore the same facial expression as his sister five years ago, but other than Victoria, he was truly happy on finally attending Hogwarts, the place he couldn't be more excited to go. Just seeing his sisters wouldn't be a problem anymore. And despite all those positive aspects, some, like Victoria a couple years ago, could have only wished for, the youngest Atkinson couldn't shake off his fear.
Just like the girl next to him, he had to live up to exectations. But he hadn't been sorted into Gryffindor or was on the Quidditch team yet. Wasn't a prefect, neither one of the top students. And while he had had better chances on fulfilling the last point, than his sister, the other were enough for the green undertone on his face, that seemed to be permanent through the time the day got nearer.
But he had an advantage, Victoria never had. A big sister he could build on. So with a smile between joy and fear he looked forwards.
The girl herself tried at least holding a little conversation with the creature in front of her, but the house-elf quiet resembled his masters, as he showed the same grumpy expression her grandparents would display most of the times. Then, with her brothers and her own owl in her hands, Victoria bit Bacchus a warm goodbye, the house-elf just glaring at the girl.
