Jake's POV:
The past week has been pretty normal, but I still haven't told my family anything about me being gay. Every time I pick up the phone to call them I put it down and feel like crying.
"Jake?" Great, now Colby is looking for me. I've been sitting at the edge of the roof for about an hour but no one noticed that I wasn't inside.
"Jake! Are you up here?" Colby climbed onto the roof looking for me. Please just go back down, and stop looking.
"Jake? Are you okay?" Colby walked over to me sitting down beside me putting his hand on my shoulder.
"I'm fine." No, I'm not.
"No you aren't. Wanna talk about it?" No. I really don't.
"Sure." Why didn't I just say no?
"So what's wrong?"
"I'm too scared to tell my family. Every time I pick up the phone to call them... I just, can't do it." At least I told him.
"Do you want to do it?"
"Ya..." Of course I want to, I just don't know how to.
"Okay, how about I call them from your phone and you just talk."
"Okay." I handed him my unlocked phone and he asked me who I want to tell first.
"My sister."
"Okay." He pressed her contact and hit the call button.
"Hey, Jake!"
"Hey, Jillian..."
"Oh no, full name. Somethings wrong, what happened?"
"Um, can anyone here this call besides you?"
"No... why? What's wrong?"
"I just have to tell you something, and you can't tell mom or dad."
"Okay, I swear I won't."
"Um... I just wanted to tell you that... um, I-I'm, uh..." I looked over to Colby for help and he just put is hand on my back, rubbing circles, and mouthed "everything's going to be fine."
"I'm gay." There. I did it.
"Oh Jake, is that all? I thought you were in real trouble! I've known that for a while." Wait, what? How did she know that?
"How-"
"-did I know? It's obvious Jake!" I took my phone out of Colby's hand taking the call off speaker.
"Okay, but how do you know, who did I look at like that?"
"No one is around you right?"
"Someone is here but they can't here what you're saying." Mouthing "sorry, Colby." he smiled and nodded.
"Okay, well... it was Colby. You'd always hang out with him and when he left for LA you were so sad. Not just sad though, you were heartbroken that he left." Blushing I looked back towards Colby, quickly looking away.
"I didn't even know I liked him back then! How could you! That isn't fair."
"You didn't know? Seriously?"
"How could I have known I liked C- him... if I didn't even know I liked guys?!"
"Oh..."
"Ya."
"That's not what I'm oh-ing about, moron. I'm Oh-ing because it's Colby who's next to you isn't it?" How the fuck does she know this?
"How- you know what? Never mind. I don't care how you know that."
"Can I talk to him?"
"Why..."
"Shut up, I just want to say hi, jesus."
"Fine."
"Hey Colbs, MY sister wants to talk to you."
"Okay there Mr. Jealousy."
"I'm not jealous..." Colby raised an eyebrow At that, "fine, maybe just a little bit..." he chuckled taking the phone, talking to my sister.

Colby's POV:
"Hey Jillian."
"Hey Colby, so I'm going to ask you yes or no questions and you can only answer with yes or no, got it?"
"Yes." Already playing the game I guess, what have I gotten myself into?
"Are you and Jake best friends?"
"Yes."
"Are okay with Jake being gay?"
"Yes!"
"This one is going to sound strange but please don't freak. Do you like guys?" What the fuck? Now I know why Jake kept saying how did you know that.
"yes..."
"I knew it! I so have an amazing gaydar. There's only one more question."
"No."
"Haha, very funny. Do you, Colby Brock, like my brother, Jake Webber?" Wait. WHAT. I don't know if I do!
"You still there or did you have a heart attack because you realised something?"
"I- I'm still here..." I say as I look over at Jake who is looking at me questioningly.
"So, do you?"
"I don't know, maybe?"
"This is a yes or no situation here, and if there's even a thought in your mind that you like someone, you probably do."
"Fine, yes. Happy now?"
"Extremely. Goodbye Colby, and you should probably go tell Sam about your little crush."
"I will, bye."
"Tell Jake bye!" I hang up the phone passing it back to Jake as I say "Jillian said goodbye."
"I would say tell her goodbye back but..." I laugh, swinging my arm around Jake. This feels nice.
"So what was that about?" Shit, what do I say?
"She basically just asked me some yes or no questions."
"Do you mind telling me them?"
"She asked me if you are my best friend, the answer is yes, if I was okay with you being gay, yes again, and if I liked guys. How did she even know that?"
"Probably the same way she knew I do." We both laughed but I knew he was thinking about his parents.
"Do you want to wait to tell your parents or would you want to do that now?"
"We- um, I should do that now... probably."
"Do you want me to call again, or do you want to do it?"
"Can you press call? Do it for my mom though, my dad will probably be with her." I took the phone back from Jake using the hand that isn't around him to type 'mom' and press 'call'.
"Hello?"
"Hi mom, is dad around? I need to talk to both of you."
"He is, I'm just going to put you on speaker."
"Hi dad, um... I have something to tell you and mom."
"What is it, son?" Deep breath, you can do this. I mouthed to Jake, he was struggling to get it out of himself again.
"I- I'm gay..." I pulled him in closer with my arm, giving him a sort of side hug, congratulating him on telling his parents.
"Oh, that's... surprising..."
"Jack! Don't be so rude! That's perfectly fine hun. Nothing changes between us."
"I didn't mean to be rude, and I agree with your mother Jake. I just wish you would have told us sooner than this."
"I know, I do too." After a while of Jake's parents telling him they love him he finally said goodbye, and hung up.
"That went well, don't you think, Jake?"
"Ya, it went surprisingly well. Thank you for being here for me Colbs."
"It's no problem, Jake." As we stood up I reluctantly took my arm off of his shoulders and climbed down the latter leading into our house. When Jake got down he surprised me by hugging me.
"Thank you so much Colby, you don't know how much you mean to me. You helped me do things I would absolutely never do by myself, so thank you." His whole 'thank you' was somewhat muffled by my sweat shirt, but I got what he was saying. Hugging him back I said "It's really no problem Jake, there's no need to thank me." But I'm glad you did.
"I think I'm just going to go to sleep, gotta be ready for the party tomorrow." He said with a yawn.
"Sure, night Jake."
"Night Colby." As I walked to my room I stopped at the end of the hallway, debating weather to tell Sam now or later. If I do it now, I know Jake won't walk in because he's going to sleep, but Sam might be asleep. If I do it tomorrow then I'll know that Sam is awake but Jake could walk in. I guess I'm gonna do   it now.
"Hey, Sam? Are you still awake?"
"Ya, what's up?" I walked into his room sitting next to him on his bed.
"Is anyone else gonna come in that you know of?"
"No, what's this about Colby?"
"So Jake just told his family that he's gay and his sister wanted to talk to me, without Jake being able to hear our conversation."
"What? Why?"
"She was asking me yes or no questions and she somehow knew that I liked guys, but then she asked me... uh, she asked me if I liked Jake."
"So, do you?"
"I think so, I told her 'I don't know' and she said 'if you say you don't know about liking someone then the thought is already there, so you probably do like them.' I don't know what to do Sam." I put my head in my hands after saying this, and Sam tried to provide an answer, which was proving to be harder than we expected.
"I wouldn't get my hopes up, but I think Jake might like you too."
"Why would you say that?"
"Why did he come to you about this? He could have asked anyone in the house about helping him through it, but he chose you. Jake and I have been friends just as long as you and him so it would make sense to come to me as well."
Did he really like me? No, I don't think so.
"Maybe he just felt like I would be better at this sense I already went through having to tell my parents." Ya, it's probably that.
"Whatever you say, you should go get some sleep. You can think about it more then."
"Ya, you're right. Night Sam."
"Night Colby." As I walked to my room I thought about it more and more. What would happen at the party? What happens when I get drunk? Am I going to accidentally tell Jake? With those thoughts buzzing in my mind I laid down to go to sleep.

Sam's POV:
"Night Colby." As soon as I heard Colby's door close I went to Corey's room.
"Corey? It's Sam, can I come in?"
"Sure."
"So, this may sound weird but Jake told you he was gay before any of the other roommates, right?" Please say yes.
"Ya, why?"
"Did he tell you who he likes?"
"Um... ya, but I don't think it would be okay to tell you. He made me promise I wouldn't tell anyone about it."
"If I tell you something I think you will tell me."
"Okay... what is it?"
"Colby likes Jake."
"Okay, you were right. Jake likes Colby."
"I knew it!"
"We need a plan to get them together. Like at the party tomorrow."
"Let's start planning it now."
