Deep in the forest of thick pine and hardwood trees that surround the city like a huge wall, is lined with traps and ultraviolet rays to keep the vampires and ghouls out from the human hideout. The humans that got away and free from the predators of the new world. There was a huge black metal wall that spread through the forest. With a giant gate with guards overlooking the front of it with giant crossbows. The assassin was breathing heavily as she sneaked past the guards to her secret entrance. It was a large hardwood tree with strange roots close to the wall with a gaping hole at the base of it, leading to a tunnel. They had their hand wrapped in a cloth to stop the bleeding and hope to not attract any unwanted visitors by spraying some ghoul scent on it. They slid down the tunnel and into an underground mine. There were many ladders leading up to the surface down the man made tunnel with faint light shining down a few holes. At the end there was a red ladder, rushing down the tunnel they took hold of the ladder with one hand and inch themselves up. They opened up the latch slowly only to be startled by someone pulling it open before they could touch it. They lost their balance but were saved by someone grabbing their wrist and pulling them up.

"I was so worried about you! Why did you go alone and what were you doing?!" the female yelled at them concerned. It was their best friend, a fit woman with brown hair tucked away in a long braid. She grabbed their shoulders and searched them for any bites or wounds. "What happened to your hand!"

"Nothing, I slipped and fell. No big deal," they said, pulling away.

The female grabbed them again, dragging them from the wall and into the camp of humans. There were tents set up everywhere near the wall but buildings being built closer into the middle of the hiding grounds. There was a building next to a tent labeled clinic that they entered. It looked like a World War I tent set up with classic medical instruments and modern ones of this century with a surprisingly cold atmosphere. They took off their black garments, their mask first, to reveal a female with blonde curly hair. Her green eyes gleamed as she smiled for a moment remembering her interaction outside these walls. "You won't believe who I ran into Sam!" The female exclaimed as she took the cloth off her hand, taking out medical supplies that were laying around the room. She grabbed some supplies that she needed to clean her wound and handed some to the female, as she walked to a room in the back of the clinic. The room was fairly dark and felt damp with filing cabinets lining the walls of the small tented area attached to the bigger tent. The female named Sam, grabbed the other female by the shoulders to finally stop her and get her attention.

"Who did you run into? More humans?" She had her eyes raised impatiently waiting for her answer.

"Huh? Oh." she poured hydrogen peroxide onto her hand and winced a bit before speaking again, "Well not a human... sorta a famous... " she looked off to the side, pretending not to see her. Sam grabbed the girl by the face and glared at her. "Who."

"Sorta.. Ichiko."

"ELIZABETH! You did not!" Sam yelled at her, letting go of her face and raised her arms in disbelief.

Elizabeth quickly told Sam to shush before smiling shyly and shrugged. Sam grabbed her hand and assisted with dressing her wound. Elizabeth wincing in pain from her rough grip and cleaning. Using gauze with tongs to clean the blood and any dirt from the cut before applying a band-aid then some gauze to keep the band-aid on their palm. They were quiet for a minute even after her wound was tended to, as Elizabeth ran her thumb over her palm where the cut laid.

"Their eyes were terrifying but I couldn't stop looking. I was enchanted."

"That's what vampires do, they're like succubus. Don't fall for it"

"Their hold was gentle and warm."

"Their skin is ice cold.."

"I think..."
