Ichiko left the file room and started walking back to the elevator. Olivia smiled at Ichiko as she saw her coming down the hallway and waved at her, "The human is on the other side of the wall, heading into the forest. If you leave now you'll be able to follow them to the human hideout." Ichiko nodded and went straight for the elevator but was stopped by Olivia grabbing her garments. "Don't forget about me down here, I always enjoy your visits Ichi," Olivia said in a tender voice as she winked at her. Ichiko ignored her and looked down at her hand to release it, or she will break her hand if she doesn't. Olivia got the message and let go of the female quickly before waving Ichiko farewell as she entered the elevator and ascended. Hugo stood in the corner of the elevator with his arms crossed. "I know you want to say something, save it," Ichiko said as she looked at the numbers changing on the elevator. "You've never been interested in dating, so I always think that is why you're so bitter." She was silent. "Ever since Suke, you've never been the same..." The elevator opened interrupting what Hugo was going to say as they both exit, everyone in the lobby bowed to them. The car was waiting for them as they both got in, Ichiko seated in the backseat looking out the window, "Because no one can replace her." Hugo looked at Ichiko through the rearview mirror watching her emotionless face change to a face of pain.
They were back at Ichiko's place, as the sun was rising. She stood at the large window that looked over the rest of the city as she watched the sun rise. The windows were tinted enough to protect her skin but it still caused damage to her eyes. Hugo sat on the couch looking away holding up his hand to set the barriers on the windows. "I don't understand why you go through that pain just to view the sunrise every day," Hugo remarked before flicking his hand to close the barriers and shield them from the sun. "I suppose old habits die hard.." she responded, closing her eyes to let them heal. "Yeah sure. It's been like a thousand years already for you.. That habit should've died a long time ago." She opened her eyes and stared directly at him giving him a 'stop nagging me' glare. Hugo raised his hands up in a defensive 'my bad' way then shrugged it off to grab a file.
"We still have that tracker on that human, we could end this case now."
"The humans are smarter than you think."
"They're like cavemen compared to us. Plus, they wouldn't expect to see us coming in broad daylight. It's perfect."
"But why did that human have that traitor.."
"Maybe he tried to get on their good side and they saw through his," he used his hands as quotation marks around, "evil plan."
"What evil was that then?"
Hugo shrugged, placing the file down and reaching for his glass of freshly poured blood. He smelled the blood from the cup before smiling into the sip. The blood stained his lips bright red as he licked them clean. It was a small portion of blood since ghouls can't have too much blood or they will go into a frenzy and turn into a monster. Many thoughts burdened Ichiko's mind that caused her to sigh quite frequently. However there was one certain thought that kept nagging at her, taunting her. That human has memorized her with her golden blonde hair that bounced when she ran away. She snapped out of it and ran her fingers through her hair. Ichiko grabbed a file containing the information about the case off the coffee table and walked out the door. Hugo finished the glass of blood and sighed, "Always in a rush."
Olivia was sitting at her desk procrastinating as usual drawing on her notebook rather than working. Her intern Tate, a skinny male that was actually an inch shorter than Olivia, had midnight blue hair and strong dark black eyes approached her with a tablet. "Ah Tate! I'm so glad to see you I was getting so bored here all alone," she exclaimed to the male getting up and hugging him. He was quite uncomfortable but is use to it by now. "Ma'am, blood bank number 67 is reacting badly to the drugs," Tate explained to Olivia handing over the tablet that showed room 67. She glanced at the tablet and let go of him to grab it. The human was on the floor of the cell foaming at the mouth. "The enhanced food isn't mixing well with her blood. A shame, she was one of my favorites." Olivia gave the tablet back to Tate and waved him away before talking, "Have her taken to the B room." Tate nodded and bowed before leaving her side walking towards a group of men to give orders. Tate glanced back to Olivia to see that she went back to work and stopped procrastinating for once. He continued to walk down the white hallway with the tablet in hand to do his job at keeping track of all the humans.
