[Note: I did not make any of these myself, these are just some cool prompts I found online and would like to share to hopefully inspire you to write!]

* You are walking down a path. A thin line is drawn in the dirt. When you cross it, it's a mirrored world. 

* You have the ability to mentally hear the honest answer to any question just by looking at a person and thinking the question. It was all fun and games until you looked in the mirror and asked a question you shouldn't have.

* The demon that tried to strike a deal with you was absolutely not prepared for the level of specificity you've prepared to make sure there are no loopholes from him to abuse.

* It was at that moment, with a gun pointed to my face, seconds away before they pulled the trigger that I realized everything that has been leading to this moment... really sucked.

* "This is not my job! This is the exact opposite of my job!" Screamed the Grim Reaper as the human went into labor.

* You live in a world where your soulmate is unable to hurt you, intentionally or otherwise. You are fighting in a war when one of the enemy's knives harmlessly glances off you.

* The hero dies for the villain. Why?

* A local bartender regularly willingly hosts monsters and demons in his bar. When a group kidnaps his children they learn the hard way how close he is to them.

* One minute you are standing in your house, the next you are standing in a living room surrounded by three demons. They drop their Ouija board and scream as they run to their bathroom and lock the door. "I told you we shouldn't have touched it!"

* You have many of the abilities of a Disney princess. You can talk to animals, people burst into song around you, and it seems every other day a "Prince Charming" type falls madly in love with you. As one of the most feared mafia enforcers in New York, it's tough, but you make it work. 

* The protagonist keeps trying to mess up the story by offing themselves. The narrator keeps having to save him. 

* Start your story with a sentence that is genuinely happy and upbeat, no double meanings. Endd it with the same sentence but this time it's chilling, dark, horrific, etc. 

* It is the end of days. God and Lucifer stand before the last human being. You are the first neutral soul who is neither good or evil enough to pass into the afterlife and thus must be judged personally. Unknown to them, you are death and have come from them instead.  

* After you die you learn why the Grim Reaper is portrayed holding a scythe. It isn't to harvest your soul, its to protect you from something on your journey. 

* Your best friend has amazing powers that they are wasting away with their lack of ambition. You decide to give them a lift by acting as a villain.

* A serial killer murdered and buried you, unbeknownst to him you're immortal. You spend the rest of his life tormenting him by pretending to be a ghost.

* Your shadow is growing jealous of your reflection. 

* Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. There was a curse. There was a girl. And in the end, there was a grave. I never even saw it coming.

* "Is that blood?" "No?" "That's not a question you're supposed to answer with another question."

* "Murder wasn't on today's agenda." "It's not on anyone's" "No, it's on mine, just not until next Thursday."

* You swerve to avoid a squirrel. Unknown to you, the squirrel pledges a life debt to you. In your darkest hour, the squirrel arrives.

* "For conspiring to murder a protected mortal and for impersonating a God, we sentence you to eternity in the depths of Tartarus." 

* He has served countless kings, faked countless deaths, bided his time, waiting for you.

* "You have excellent manners for a thief and a liar"

* What if memory lane was a real place?

* At the age of 21, everyone receives a weapon that embodies them perfectly. 

* She was a locksmith. Her specialty was locking doors that should never be opened.
