Chapter 2:
*Cato's POV*
"Fine." She says.
Today is going to be hard. The games start this afternoon and I just had a big argument with her. Clove really doesn't need this, I know that. Both of us have got enough going on, and being put in the games together doesn't really help that much. I head down for lunch, to find that Clove is all alone, crying into what looks like a salad.
"What's wrong?" I ask. No reply comes, and I say, "Clove, please tell me, what is it? You know I'd do anything for you."
"That's exactly the point! Isn't it!" She screams.
"I don't know what you mean,"
"You, you can't just go home can you? You're the pride of our district! Can you not see that?" She sounds a bit more calm now, but still enraged.
"But I love you Clove" I cry in response
"I love you too Cato, but I can't just go home and forget about you, can I? If you die in there, I'll go mad! I'll never be able to leave! I'll always be guilty!" She cries.
I try to put my arms around her but she shakes off my grasp on her, and storms off into her room, furious with me.
