Luna's P.O.V

I only could stare at Conrad as he ran down the hall. As much as I was angry at him, my heart ached for him.

"He'll be fine." A voice said from behind me. I quickly turned around and saw Tate standing in front of me. He was unusually tall.

"I-i didn't mean to, I'm sorry." He crossed his arms and nodded. I could feel my heart drop, I already knew Tate didn't like me. And I only seemed to make this whole situation worse.

"C-can I talk to him?" I looked up at him. As much as I hate to admit it, Tate scared me. He is built and intimidating. He didn't reply, only grabbed my arm and walked me to over to a tall wooden door.

"Knock before you go in." Tate said before striding down the hallway. I pressed my ear against the door and heard the sound of a piano. It was beautiful, the song seemed familiar. After listening for a few minutes I knocked on the door. The music stopped instantly and the door swung open.

"Whoa, uh, Hey." I ran a hand threw my hair and smiled at him. He didn't say anything, only smiled back and moved to let me enter his room. I slowly walked inside and looked around.

"Hey, look, I'm sorry about earlier."

"It's alright. I'm sure you have tons of questions. And I'm willing to answer them." He sat on a bench in front of his piano and gestured a hand for me to sit down on his bed. I smiled and sat down.

"You play the piano beautifully, I've never heard such an amazing sound."

"Thank you, I've played piano since I was a child." He ran his hand over the keys.

"You play with a lot of emotion as Well." I added with a smile.

"Yeah, the piano is my way of expressing my emotions. I play when I'm angry, sad, or happy."

I nodded, "Sooo, hybrids?" I looked at him and frowned. Conrad let out a sigh before replying.

"We are Nephilim." He stated. I looked at him a bit confused.

"We are half angle, half human. It's called Nephilim."

"So you kidnapped me because I'm Nephilim? " I asked crossing my arms.

"Nephilim don't belong part of the mortal world. We are different."

"Don't belong?" I scoffed.

"If I am Nephilim Why was I raised a human? Why was I raised in the human world if I don't belong?" Conrad frowned at me.

"It was your mother's choice to take you from the Nephilim world. She raised you as a normal being. Your name was even changed for your protection."

"What do you mean, protection?" I raised an eyebrow. He sighed and turned towards his piano.

"You sure have a lot of questions Ms.Slade." He pressed down on a few keys, creating a beautiful chord.

"Yes I do, Mr.-?" I paused.

"Starkway." He replied bluntly.

"Starkway is an odd last name." I said uncrossing my arms. He nodded as he began playing a slow melody.

"Yes, I know. It's a well known last name by the Nephilim. And so is Slade."

"I learn something new everyday." I rolled my eyes.

"You're very sassy, Ms.Slade." He said as he stopped playing the melody.

"And your very intriguing, Mr.Starkway." I said standing up. He smiled at me and closed the piano lid over the keys.

"I'm flattered. But  It's late, I should show you to your room." He smiled at me as He stood up.

"I have a room?"

"Of course. There are over 50 rooms in the institute." Conrad opened his door and walked into the hallway. It was barely lit, beside a candle that was on a desk. I followed him immediately.

"No electricity?" I asked.

"No. Nephilim don't really believe in  electricity. We are very old fashioned." I looked down the hall and crossed my arms uncomfortably. The hallway seemed to never end, it was very long and dark. A few portraits hung crookedly on the wall. One portrait was of a woman and her baby. They  had weird markings all over their body and the babies eyes were a bright yellow. I shivered looking at it.

"Come on," He said as He led me to a room not far from his own. He opened the door and waited for me to walk inside.

"I'll give you your privacy. Ms.Aspen left a clean nightgown for you to wear to bed."

"Who is Ms.Aspen?"

"Our maid." He replied. I nodded and walked inside the room.

"Goodnight, Luna." He smiled.

"Goodnight, Conrad." I said returning the smile. He closed the door and I listened carefully as he walked away. I wasn't Used to this. I've never had a maid before. And I haven't wore a nightgown since I was five. I quickly undressed myself and slipped into the blue nightgown. It was clearly too big, and the candle that was burning barely lit the room. I sighed and climbed into the bed. I pulled the quilt over me and blew out the candle. This whole situation  was way too much to handle. I honestly needed sleep. Tomorrow I am going to get more answers.
