"Cora!" I jumped slightly at my name, struggling to work out which voices were real and which were fake. I heard the jiggling of a bag and turned to see Dylan skipping towards me with a large smile on his face.

"Did you not hear me calling your name?" Yes, I did hear you Dylan, I heard you, I heard you but I'm struggling to make out if anyone is real or not real at the minute.

"No, sorry Dyl." I looked at him and tried to give my best I'm sorry smile.

"Did you study for the test?" A laugh escaped my lips, but I was only laughing at the thought of last night and how I knew I was going to fail this test badly.

"Yeah but I don't get any of it. You're so lucky you learn stuff easily." I punched Dylan lightly in the arm to which he looked at me with a pout while rubbing over the spot I'd just hit.

"That, plus I'm a nerd." His eyes fell to his feet, where his scruffy converse shuffled against the wet concrete. I took in Dylan appearance for a while, his hair was neatly brushed to one side and he wore a cream blazer over his thick purple jumper, his black jeans expertly sewn so they didn't drag on the floor.

Dylan had always taken care of his appearance to the point where he looked like your well fashioned nerd, well he was really. I smiled at him sincerely,

"Not a lot, just a little." He scoffed at my comment and flung an arm around my shoulders,

"You're not supposed to agree Cora, you're meant to argue with me and make me feel good about myself." He gave me another small pout, his bright blue eyes in high contrast with his dark hair.

"You're cute." I pinched his cheek lightly and he giggled. Dylan was cute, as in the little brother who you cared for way. He really was like my little brother Matty, both of them were obsessed with myths and unrealistic creatures. I let go of Dylan's cheek and pulled a large book from his bag, just to prove to myself how right I was.

"The history of Mythical Creatures, new read?" I flicked through a few pages, most of the animals in this book were far too make believe, I really didn't see how people could believe in this crap. Dylan was about to snatch the book out of my hands when a page actually caught my interest.

Large letters at the top of the book read

Cannibalistic

"They actually had monsters that were cannibals?" Dylan went for the book again but I ran ahead of him, he caught up and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Yes they were the smartest ones. Because they ate humans, they had to develop in wisdom to trick humans, but then again some of those monsters also held spiritual powers to manipulate some humans."

Dylan's arms unfolded just as quickly as he crossed them, using his hands while explaining certain powers these creatures had and how they used them. Honestly it was freaky, and would of been a lot freakier if you actually believed that stuff.

"Whatever Dyl, come on we have a test to get to." I rolled my eyes and handed him his book back. I leapt up the steps while Dylan stood at the bottom as he attempted to fit the large book back in his clustered bag. On my way up I passed a fimiliar figure and looked up to see Flynn Tuckerman.

While he was walking past Dylan he gave him a mighty push, causing Dylan to drop almost everything from his bag on to the floor. I let out a heavy sigh and hopped back down to Dylan, helping him pick up some stuff.

"Seriously Burrows why do you hang out with this nerd?" Flynn licked his lips while he scanned my body, which was again hidden with warm clothing.
