Let's see... I guess I'll begin from the last thing I remember:
"There was a village—lots of fire—oh, and there was a girl standing there in the middle of the flame. I- I can't recall her name... but look like something more then a human; she was like some sort of celestial being.
I don't know why she captured my attention, nor why I stood and watched her as she would refuse to burn away, but, the very last thing I can recall is her telling me to find 'the one scarred by time', and now I'm here."
There was a mage, sitting down across from me in the tavern booth, he was excitedly writing down every single word I said; even now he's wasting his life trying to record my every thought.
"Eirwol! Stop it you jackass!" He said slamming his notebook down on the table
"Hahaha! Well finally you catch on Odyn!" I laughed as I took a swill from the mug next to me. "For Anaurora's sake I thought you'd never stop writing."
"Well your story was interesting ok?!" He says trying to hold back a smile. "A girl that wouldn't burn, one scarred by time? I mean what the hell does that even mean? Hah, sounds like some kind of fever dream."
"Sure felt like it." I said back.Odyn was an odd character; he stays cloaked up in robes that cover his face, and his the first time we met was when he found me stranded for death out in some backwater forest, but, despite the fact I accidentally tried to kill him, he hired me for a job. I guess... he saw something in me... I can't tell what... but anyway, that was a month or two ago—can't remember exactly when—but now we just preform odd jobs from town to town as he does research on the local, well, 'corrupted' fauna. Still don't know what they are, just that the locals call them demons.
Later that night, however, we would discover something that would set in motion the end of the world.
Cut back to morning:
Odyn and I just walked into the town of Aoranatura, a small village made famous for their baked goods and harmony with the forest around them. It was that village where we stayed for the most part in the local inn, since just recently its been a hotspot of demonic activity, and an ample source of research for our neighbor demonologist, although he'd completely deny that title for reasons unknown to me.
The morning started out as usual, we'd be back from a late night hunt and Odyn would be way too eager to start another bounty, so I'd be the one having to haul whatever 'proof of kill' was demanded to the client while he scoured the bounty boards and nearby residents for anything particularly interesting
I was a mercenary, working for the avalanche gang *cough cough* wait sorry wrong series.
I was a mercenary, I've spent my past few years traveling the world, completing small tasks and jobs for those I meet in exchange for a bit o' change.
It was all going smoothly, until I got one mission that really topsyed my turvyed to the point that I thought I'd never go back.
Uhh... but before I say what happened I should give a little bit of background. I have, a curse; a special curse that would, in my time of need, transform my being into that of a monster, I was never quite sure what exactly I looked like, but I do know two key bits knowledge, from people yelling it at me some times...
One: Monster of the void,
Two: woof
Heh, ok sorry that's all I really know about what happens to me, but anyway, here's what happened.
