she curls her hair and listens to music
she's looking forward to tonight
He said he would come tonight.
she knows it's wrong but
she can't help it

she spends her days waiting for Him
she sprays the sweet exotic scent that

the phone rings
she answers immediately
He can't make it.
something must have come up
something always comes up.
He has a family after all.
the music in the background
is speaking to her, saying
you'll always be second.
