I watch as the girl, Ryley, searches for a way onto the ship. I haven't  known her very long, but I think I'm starting to like her a little bit more. Not so much her friend Jaramy, but she seems to have a lot of power, if she can make things appear out of thin air maybe she can do more.

I just hope she lives because I want some answers. I sit in the truck waiting for the hour to be up so I can go back to the house and wait for something.

I watch the digital clock on the dash as it turns seven A.M. I give her five extra minutes, but still don't see her so I climb into the drivers seat turning the key, putting the truck in gear, driving back to the house.

I relatively remember how to get there because I had payed attention to the road signs as we were heading to the docks.

I park in front of the house, leaving the keys in the truck, I go inside yawning as I lay on the couch.

"Tired?" A little boys voice asks. I quickly sit up looking to where the voice had come from, which is the chair which I had calmly walked past without noticing the short figure sitting there.

"Who are you?"

"Who cares who I am, who are you?"

I stand thinking if I should answer or not when I figure it could do no harm in telling him, I say, "Aden."

"Well Aden, were is Ryley?"

"I- I don't know, how do you know Ryley?" I ask him.

"Friends and where was she last?" He is starting to sound annoyed.

"At the... Wait why am I being interrogated by a little kid that I don't even know?"

"Docks, thanks for the help." He finishes my sentence, not answering my question and standing up out of the chair and heading straight for the door.

"Hold on a damned second!" I yell at him as he slams the door behind him. Standing up I stomp to the door and follow the kid over the grassy lawn, out of the driveway and down the road, "Where are you going!" I yell trying to get some answers.

"To the docks."

"How did you even know that she was at the docks?" Although I already know the answer.

"Your head."

"Okay, now that we have that covered, how are you planning on getting to the docks? Walking?"

"My friend, and no you can't come." He sounds grown up when he says no, like I did something wrong.

"Oh, I'm coming." I say reassuringly as I see a lime green pickup truck driving full speed down the empty road toward us. As it gets close but it doesn't slow down, instead the breaks are stomped on the driver turns the wheel as fast and hard to the left as the truck stops and turns around in the same motion stopping right as the back tire touches my shin.

I think of saying 'nevermind I'll just wait for you to get back', but I think Ryley would respect me a little more if I saved her. So I copy the kid and climb into the bed of the truck not caring that I don't know any of these people.

I sit close to the tailgate as the driver, whom I haven't  met yet, speeds down the road non-stop for anything. "What's your name?" I ask the brat who is about five feet tall with black hair, tan skin, bent and worn out hat, a brown torn jacket over a dirty white shirt, and jeans rolled up to his knees.

"Lial." He says so plainly, I slowly nod my head looking up at the sky that is a light blue except for the bright yellow sun that I lifting higher and higher into the sky.

"Would you know who Jax is?"

"Everyone knows who Jax around here. He's a man people can't tollerate and he doesn't enjoy many people either. He's power hungry, loves being praised and followed and all those high and mighty words, he's..." Lial thinks of a word to use, "Annoying, Intolerable, ya know?" I nod as I feel the warm air blowing my hair back, it reminds me of when I was younger and my mom would run her fingers through my hair telling me how soft it was and how she was going to miss me. That is until the driver slams on the breaks and I go flying forward, knocking my head into the back window. I can here Lial laughing behind me.

He holds in some of his laugh as he climbs out of the truck and says, "we would have had more back up, but the other guys had things to do."

"Wait, so your saying there are more of you scoundrels running around unsupervised?"

"Yes, and Daisy would come with us, but she has to go drive some other people places." He goes up to the passenger door and taps on the window,  it is rolled down, "thanks for the ride." He tells a girl his age wearing a yellow dress and sunglasses, who has blocks on the pedals to be able to reach and a few extra cushion to see the road. She smiles at me and says, "anytime," as she pushes a button, the window is rolled back up and as she drives off I have to step back rather than get my toes ran over by the heavy wheels that leave behind a trail of dust.

I watch as she makes a sharp turn down the road and is gone. Looking at Lial we walk towards the same ship Ryley had climbed onto. "So, who exactly are all of you guys?" I ask him.

"What do you mean?"

"Ryley seems to know a lot of people, how and who are they?"

"Welp, most of them are people she stole from, but occasionally it'll be someone she helped and they are in debt to her."

"Like me."

"Mmm, and me." He sound dissapointed like he hates the thought of being in debt to her.

"Is Jaramy in debt too or something, they seem to like eachother a lot."

"Your an idiot?"

"Hey!"

"Shh, no there brother and sister."

"Oh, well it makes since now."

Lial starts climbing the side of the ship where no bystander can see, I look back at the road then down each side of the dock and follow after him.

When we climb up the safest way we 'stealthily' crossing the dark searching for where they might put prisoners, finding most of the ship empty except for an occasional guard and two other guards in front of a red door.

"Where is everyone? You would think that a rich mans ship would be full of guards." I ask Lial and he answers saying, "how am I supposed to know?" He takes a few seconds to look around, "If I had to guess, I'd say, behind that red door which is so highly guarded." He gets a wierd look on his face and I instantly know what he wants.

"No."

"Yes, you're going to distract or I'll  push you off of this thing, hopefully you'll drown."

"You are so heartless." I say slowly crawl away from out from behind the stack of boxes. Pretending to sneak across the dock in front of the guards, I hear one if them yell at me, but rather than sneak I jog waiting for them to get close and sprint as fast as I can away from the door and away trying to avoid all the other guards. Taking a sharp turn I wait for them around the corner, once they finally catch up and round the edge I trip one causing the other to fall over the first.

As they squerm aroumd on the ground trying to get up. While they are struggling I run back the way I had came going to the red door, I am about to open the door when someone from the inside opens it. Lial quickly rushes out closing it behind him and looking up at me, "Nope." Is all he says when he rushes back to the way we had gotten on, no chance of searching anymore with two men already knowing we are on the ship. So we climb off the ship and back onto the docks.

"How are we going to go back to the house?" I ask Lial.

"You want to know exactly what I'm  going to do." I nod my head, "I'm  going to get in the first car I find, hot wire it, and you can drive." I stop for a second thinking about the statement, watching Lial continue to the road. I finally think to agree and we go car hunting.
