Chapter 4: Shai's PoV

I give Piper her medicine drink early this morning.

Then, I change into ripped jeans and a white blouce. I brush my hair farther to the side than usual, but I'm in a rush to look good. I pull on a long button up red coat. I pull on a pair of booties with some boot-socks. The best outfit this century. I laugh at myself.

I slip a look in my body mirror and notice I look not bad. I smile at myself. Hopefully Nathan likes it.

I pull on a blue necklace to add some color to my blouce.

I walk out and knock on Piper's door. She smiles at me and walks out of her room.

"Shai?" Piper asks as we walk out of the house with mom and dad, and I sense something might be wrong.

"Yes, girl-o?" I smile. She giggles and snuggles into my side.

"Something is making mommy and daddy tense, and mommy threw up this morning... what does it mean sissy?" She asks, looking up at me.

It sounds like... no! It couldn't be! Maybe... "She might be sick, girl-o. I'm sure we will find out tonight."

"Okay, Shai. If you think so." She says and I nod. I buckle her in her car seat and get in the truck.

No, mom couldn't be pregnant. She just can't be.

I walk Piper to class, quickly. She smiles and waves as I leave and I try to find my mate- I mean, since I'm around humans, boyfriend.

Arms wrap around me from behind. I giggles a little and pull away. "Nathan!" I say.

"We can't be obvious." He whispers, but kissed my cheek so fast the human eye wouldn't catch it.

"I'm sorry I had to leave. But my dad was freaking out. Also, I really need to talk to you because I'm just so stressed," I say. He looks like he wants to do something, then stops himself and pulls back.

"Tell me all about it- uh, at my house. Your friends are coming. I have to go." He says, looking over to the side a bit, but not to obviously.

"Heeey, Nathan!" Olive and Cassy say as they walk over.

"Hi, girls." He smiles, and I try not to growl. Don't smile at other girls! Wait what? I never have thought that about him before. I'm only protective of the people I... of the people I love. I blush. I love Nathan! "Bye, Shai." He smiles at me ruggedly. I giggle a little and try not to purr. But then he leaves and I almost want to howl.

"Ahh! Shai, Nathan is totally into you!" Olive says to me, sqealing like a fifth grader.

"Really?" I smile at Cassy and Cassy is covering her mouth and laughing quietly. "I didn't notice."

Olive cursed. "I left my books in my locker. I'll meet you girls in class." And she hurries off.

"Good job, Shai. I'm happy for you!" Cassy hugs me from the side. "Has he made you his yet?"

I blush widely. "Cass!" I say. She giggles.

"What? With an alpha it's usually the first hour!" She says. I give her a weird look. "I'm not lying. I'm sure tonight-"

"I think my mom is pregnant!" I whisper to her, letting my fear out.

"What?" She says, and stands in front of me.

"She... She barfed this morning and her and dad were acting weird and they hurries away after they dropped us off and even Piper is suspicious!" I let it all out.

"Think about it!" Cassy laughs. "You are going to be the oldest! It will be awesome! Another sibling!"

"I would usually love the idea, but I mean, I have Nathan and I think I want to feel like his mate... He mentioned to me last night when we were watching a movie that we should drop out, and we should be the leaders of his pack... I could be... will be the Luna of an entire pack!" I look at her. "Sorry... I'm just stressed. My point is, I don't want my sibling, if my mom is pregnant, to think I don't have time for them. Piper already loves Nathan, so she is okay, but a new sibling? Ugh. And dad-"
