The next day my parents and I were sitting at the table for breakfast. No food was being eaten by any of us, and the table was engulfed in silence. The only sound that could be heard was the scratching of our forks on the plates. We hadn't talked much to one another since the accident, mostly, because we just didn't have anything to say, we were all in still shock.

"Leora, we got a call from the school yesterday saying that you were absent," my father said looking down at his plate, breaking the silence that was looming over us.

"I was at the hospital," I replied truthfully. I saw no reason in him saying anything, considering the two of them were at the hospital while I slept.

My mother sucked in a breath and I could tell she was holding back tears. She had been fighting the tears, trying her hardest to stay strong, but we all knew she could break at any moment. My father just shook his head and looked up at me with sad eyes.

"Leora, this is okay as a one time thing, we understand, but if it happens again we will have to have a serious talk, okay?"

I nodded and continued to play with my eggs. "Okay, Dad it won't happen again."

The silence resumed, I couldn't take it anymore, so I put my fork down from my uneaten eggs and got up from the table. My parents didn't question it as I got up and made my way upstairs. I got ready for school, taking my time in the shower letting the hot water sting my skin.

I didn't put any makeup on and left my hair a sopping wet mess on top of my head. I put on some clothes that I didn't even bother looking at when I grabbed them, but I managed to grab a grey crew neck shirt with white jeans; then began to make my way to my car.

Before I was able to leave my mother stopped me, "Will you be okay to drive?" She questioned in a shaky voice; she was about to break, I could tell.

"Yes mom why wouldn't I be?" I gave her a quizzical look and put my hand on the doorknob trying to signal to her that I just wanted to get out of there.

"I don't know, just sometimes when you're upset-" She faded off not finishing her sentence.

"I will be fine, I promise," I kissed her on the cheek and opened the door. "I don't want to be late for school I really better get going."

We said our goodbyes and I headed off to school driving carefully thinking of my mother's words. I really didn't want to go to school, it seemed pointless now I knew I wouldn't be able to pay attention to my classes. I didn't even want to have to have conversations with my friends, at the moment. For some reason there was this sinking feeling that there would be nonstop questions about Xavier.

The light in front of me changed red; I knew that this one was a long one, and that I would be waiting for a while. I leaned my head back on the seat and closed my eyes for a brief second. A cold gust of wind filled up my car, and my eyes shot open.

I turned my head to the side and screamed. There he, Death, was sitting in the passenger's seat, his hair all tousled and his eyes practically glowing. He wore pretty much the same thing he did in the hospital except the jacket he wore was navy blue.

"There's no need to be so dramatic," he growled looking at me in disdain. Shaking my head at his comment, he gave me a puzzled expression.

I frowned and put my foot on the gas pedal as the light turned green. "You just popped inside my car, of course I'm going to be startled," I stated.

"I've decided on a name," he said looking straight ahead at the road. I couldn't help but keep glancing at him as I drove.

"Well what is it then?" I asked curious and a little frightened at what his reply would be.
