Tyler’s POV
“What’s up Troye, are you okay?” I asked concerned, looking carefully at him. I knew by the crack on his voice that something was clearly wrong.
“There’s something I need to talk to you about, Tyler,” he said, now trying to avoid eye contact with me, his voice two tones lower than usual. I could tell that he was nervous by the way he was playing anxiously with his long sleeves, as he always does when there’s something bothering him.
“Talk to me babe, what happened?” I whispered, looking him straight in the eye and grabbing his hand, reassuring him that he could trust me.
“I… I don’t even know where to begin, Ty… I-“
A loud Skype call ring started to play on my laptop, and I saw Chris’ picture pop up on my screen. I didn't want to cut Troye off, but I know Chris, and I knew that he wouldn’t be calling if it wasn’t extremely important, considering how busy he always is.
“I’m sorry Troye, hold that thought. Just a second,” I cut him off watching him nod and his nervous expression smoothen into a relieved, yet disappointed appearance. I wanted to talk to Troye so badly, but I had to know if there was something wrong.
“Hey Chris, is everything okay?” I asked him, letting go of Troye’s hand and focusing on my computer screen with a grip of concern taking over me, since I couldn’t see his face straight, given that the stream was taking forever to load.
“I’m fucking fantastic Tyler!” he answered within a few seconds, the video being loaded now. I could see the largest smile I had ever seen painted on his face, and I couldn’t help but open my own back to him.
“Why, wait, what happened?” I asked still smiling and giggling, looking at him with a confused, yet extremely happy aspect for seeing him so enthusiastic.
“Guess who got Ellen Fucking DeGeneres to be on his show next month?” he screamed, getting closer to the camera and reopening that wide-open smile of his.
“OH MY GOD CHRIS, SHUT UP! Are you serious, oh my god, oh my god, OH MY GOD!” I retorted nearly screaming and chocking on my own laughter, covering my rad face full of excitement with both my hands. Since Chris has his own Talk Show, Ellen has always been his idol and we have always talked about how much he looks up to her. This was amazing news, and I couldn’t be happier for him. “Christopher Clark, what the actual fuck! I wish I could be there celebrating with you, baby” I said smiling and looking down at my keyboard, sounding a little bit more tender then I had planned. “How did this happen?” I asked him looking back at the screen. “Tell me everything!”
“I wish you were here too, Mr. Oakley. I miss you so much”. A subtle blush grew all over my cheeks and I let out a slight grin as to how he always called me ‘Mr. Oakley’, just how he called me when we first met on the interview, realizing how much I missed him myself.
“You know that friend of mine, Barbara?” I nodded, giving all my attention to him as he explained. “So, she-“
I heard a loud noise coming of the other side of the room, and turned my head to see Troye tripping on my bag as he headed to the door. He was tripping on his own feet, reaching the walls for support as he did, and I could’ve sworn that I heard a slight and muffed sniff coming out of the boy, who was reaching one of his arms up to his face.
“Who is there, Ty?” Chris asked intrigued, trying to look at the other side of the room through the screen. “It’s just Troye… Hold on, Chris” I answered him, watching out of the corner of my eyes at his lips tightening slightly when I mentioned who was with me that late in the night, but feeling too worried about Troye to do something about it. “Hey Troye, are you okay? Where are you going?” I asked him, raising my chin lightly and placing my laptop on my bed. I moved my legs out of the bed, standing up quickly to get to Troye before he could reach the door.
