"Jer--Rome."

"J--erome!"

The voice screamed, but it was distorted and scratchy. Jerome looked around only to see darkness. A light turned on right above him. He was tied to a chair by dirty, old rope that was tearing his skin as he tried to escape. Screaming and crying, but it felt like nothing would come out.

"Sh--e's nev--er going to lo--ve y--ou! Y--ou k--know it!"

Jerome was shivering as he tugged harder, thrashing in the chair. He couldn't breathe until a bright light entered. He knew who it was, but could not see through how bright it was. The brightness woke him up.

Coughing and crying, Jerome was sat up in bed, "Relax, Jerome. I've got you, love. Nothing's going to hurt you."

"You saved me," He choked out, heaving.

(Y/N) smiled sadly, her own eyes dripping tears down her cheeks, "I love you no matter what, J."

"She said you wouldn't," He admitted, his blue-green orbs scanning her face.

"Ha," The laugh was full of pain, "She doesn't know what love is. I will love you till the end of time."

"Promise?"

Running her fingers through his hair, she nodded, "Promise."

Jerome laid his head against her chest, allowing her to sing him to sleep.

It wasn't a nightmare this time. It was her and her light guiding him through the darkness. She brought him to an unfamiliar lake. Pink trees surrounded the lake and the sun rested its calm light on the water.

"Where are we?" Jerome looked at her.

"I don't know," She looked up at him, "Do you like it?"

"I do..." He admitted quietly, strands of his red fluff coming undone and blowing in the wind.

"It's cherry trees," (Y/N) smiled softly, "Pleasing to look at."

"You're pleasing to look at," Jerome murmured.

"I love you," (Y/N) kissed his cheek, "I truly do."

For a moment, he got shy before speaking up, "I love you too."
