Tyler kept his mouth shut striding down the halls, his eyes on the dirty white tile floor. Of course he was late, because why wouldn't he be?

it's his fault for staying up late, he wouldn't have woken up late if he went to sleep on time. He knew how important sleep was but he just couldn't lay still, he couldn't stop- thinking.

Crash.

Tyler ran into someone- oh fuck me.

"Shit.. I'm sorry.. just.. here let me" Tyler stammered, kneeling down to help the stranger gather the small handful of papers he had dropped.

"Hey it's all good.. I-I ran into you.."

Tyler gathers some papers and sat on his feet, waiting for the stranger to get himself together.

"here.. uh.. I'm Tyler by the way"

"Josh."

The brunette smiled sadly, handing the stack boy.

"Thanks.. hey.. Do you happen to know were room 185 is?"

Tyler glanced up at Josh, he could tell his ears were burning red.

Josh looked straight out of a fantasy, his eyes happy- big and brown. His face was strong, but soft. His hair consisted of light pink curls, they all seemed perfect in their own messy way.

Tyler quickly realized he was staring and shifted his eyes away. He carefully picked himself up off the floor, "Actually.. I think we're heading the same direction pal"

The duo walked together in silence, finding it hard to talk to each-other after completely embarrassing themselves.

"Here we are.. The teacher doesn't really mind if we're late, he's pretty chill actually"

Tyler reached for the handle of the door, but quickly retracted his hand when he saw the other do the same thing. A blush spread across his cheeks, great, he probably looks like an idiot.

Tyler mumbled a gentle 'thanks' before walking into the language arts room. He scanned the back of the class room to find a suitable chair to sit in, he spotted a friend of his in the back, beckoning him to join.

"Hey bren.."

"tyjo my man.. so I was meaning to ask you, did you uh.. finish the paper for Mr. Beckum? I kinda didn't do it and-... what are you looking at?"

Tyler got ripped from his focus, his face warming up. He thought josh was going to follow him over, but noticed the boy had sat on the opposite side of the two, alone.

he related to that stance, not knowing anyone or anything about a new environment, feeling left out and in the dark. He knew what isolation felt like. He didn't want to watch this new kid sit alone.

"The new kid.. his name is Josh- I kinda ran into in the hall.. He seemed nice" Tyler explained in a small nervous voice.

"Let's invite him over! Our cult needs new members" brendon chuckled. "Hey uh.. new kid- wanna join our cul-"

Tyler shoved a hand over his friends mouth quickly- "what he means is, wanna come sit with us?"

Josh gave the two of them funny looks before smiling, he had nothing to lose so why not?

He gathered his things, keeping his mouth turn up in a smile. Josh watched as Tyler and the kid next to him went at each-other.

"What the hell was that for?" Tyler screeched, wiping his hand off on his jeans, "no one shuts me up and gets away with it!"

Josh giggled as he sat down in an open desk, he scooted it up a little, forming a triangle with the other two boys.

"Hi- I'm brendon by the way.. I take it you're Josh?"

The red haired boy nodded, "yep.. nice to meet you brendon"

"I like this one! Can we keep him tyjo.."

"You're ridiculous-"

Tyler shook his head and looked down at his hands, a distraction he really needed right now.

Josh couldn't help but glance at Tyler, he didn't get to examine the boys features until now, he took Brendon's blabbering as an opportunity to do so, Josh noticed something about Tyler, his big brown eyes were clouded with negativity. Despite the smile on his lips, or the laugh he just forced out, he looked so, so sad.

"So I told him- 'I'll fuck your dog up too' and he started crying!"

"What-" Tyler laughed at Brendon's stupid story, Josh didn't pay attention, he was to busy studying Tyler's face. He wanted to learn more about him. Brendon was easy to read, a bubbly, adhd child. Tyler though, he had something about him.
