was said from the darkskin friend that hoped in front of the opening. y/n's heartbeat went up fast.

'caleb stop scaring me like that, i thought you were a daytime intruder or something.' y/n walked into her house as caleb followed.

'all i did was walk in the door, i didn't even do anything to scare you like that.' caleb laughed as he sat on the living room couch. the girl just laughed and grabbed her bag and pulled out her apron,

y/n loved caleb's personality he makes everybody happy when they're in a sad or boring mood.most of the time people think that they have a thing but they knew that could never happen.

Caleb & Y/n don't look at each other like that and their family's are close, they see each other as brother and sister really.

'don't get to comfortable, we have to go to work soon and gabe is at baseball til 5.' y/n said tying her apron to her waist.

'so gabe made the baseball team.' caleb turned around and looked in the kitchen area.

'yeah he did, and im so proud of him. have a piece of pineapple.' mary the mother came in the room & said holding up a bowl if pineapple pieces to his presence, caleb took a piece.

'mom, what is up with you and the pineapple.' y/n laughed grabbing her bag.

'pineapple is good for you children.' mary said putting the pineapple back in the fridge.

'okay mom, we're going to work' y/n said letting caleb going out the door first.

'okay see you my loves.' mary said waving goodbye.

mary always seen y/n and caleb as a brother and sister type too, even though they don't have the same parents. caleb always seen mary as a second mother.

'would it be bad to tell you that i have a crush on a white girl.' caleb talked quietly while walking.

'no its not, thats good caleb, we shouldn't judge people for skin color. she is friendly towards blacks?' y/n said smiling, she was glad to see caleb having a crush.

'yeah, i've been her friend for a while now. its just that we don't tell people we hang out because the the whites that hate blacks might hate her too.' caleb sighed but smiled.

'lol for example, jack wyatt & the beautys. thats nothing to be scared about.' y/n balled out laughing at that.

a couple of minutes later the two darkskins arrived at the restaurant and seen that it was already busy as it always looked.

y/n walked around the tables and walked back too the employee room, she was feeling energetic & wanted to clock in already.

the waitress clocked in, she walked up to the first table she was supposed to assist

and realized the it was the red head family of sadies.

"hey my name is y/n and i will be your server for today, what would you guys like to drink.' the darkskin spoke and put the silverware on the table to the family of five.
