y/n got home from work and greeted her mom & brother in the kitchen.

"hey mother." y/n hugged her mom cleaning up.

"hey what about me." y/n's brother gabriel joked and patted her back.

"boy you know i wasn't ignoring you. how was baseball." y/n laughed and gave her brother a hug.

"it was good actually, some whites accepted me and some thought it was a joke but i showed them good." gabriel laughed pretending to swing a imaginary bat.

"you probably sucked." y/n laughed and slapped her brothers arm.

"girl shut up." gabe responded and pushed her sister slightly.

"yeah stop pushing each other guys , can you go upstairs and see if your sister is asleep. haven't heard from her since she got off of work."

mary the mother said making the other two siblings confused.

"uh okay mom." y/n turned around slowly and walked upstairs.

as y/n was going to walk to her sister pipers room, she hears sniffs and cries coming from her room instead.

"who is in my room." y/n walked and seen her sister crying on her desk.

"they keep on making fun of me, what did i do." piper slightly yelled and caught y/n off guard.

"piper, im so sorry." y/n said taking off her apron and ran to her sister.

"what happened." y/n also asked since her sister never said.

"i was walking home and these two boys kept harassing me calling me names and threatening to get girls to beat me up , why would they say that to me though. what did i do to them" piper said and made y/n upset.

the johnson family never told y/n or piper about the racism issue thats around them. y/n had to figure that out on her own and had to tie up the clues, but her sister was just ..... confused.

"if i tell you this, your mindset will change." piper listened to her sister.

"okay, just tell me i don't care." piper responded.

when y/n told her little sister everything about racism, from how it started years ago and how people react today. piper was very shocked.

"oh, okay. i understand." piper swallowed nothing.

"don't let this get to you. one day people will just see us all as one." y/n smiled making piper smile.

*boom*

piper and y/n looked back at the window to see nothing, it sounded a rock or a pebble hit the window but it was probably just outside.

"well im gonna go back in my room and sleep." piper said standing up off the bed wiping her eye.

"okay goodnight to you too." y/n laughed as her sister walked out of the room.

*knock knock knock*

came from y/n's window. when she looked at the window she seen a tall white boy she recognized to be finn.

"oh my god finn what are you doing here." y/n said opening her window.

"i just want to get to know you." finn said stepping in y/n's room.

"yeah but lets make this quick, if my dad found out a white was in this house he would freak." y/n laughed.

"y/n." finn said sitting on the chair and holding the girls hand.

"i'm not like everyone else, i like you for who you are." finn said and looked in the girls eyes.

"wait, you like me?" y/n smirked.

"forget that i said that, lets just get to know eachother." finn laughed.

"you don't need to be embarrassed, i just need to trust you more." y/n said and grabbed one of finn's curls.

"yeah." finn laughed.

then y/n's dad bursted in the room.

just kidding :).

four hours after finn & y/n got to know each other alot. y/n knew that she could trust the boy, yes he is white and thats not the best match but did the darkskin girl care..no!

finn already liked the darkskin girl for her personality and the way she looks because she was different. he wasn't sure but he probably even loved the girl.

"yeah finn it's literally almost 4am and i'm tired." y/n yawned.

"yeah i'll head out." finn said grabbing his jacket and stepping out of the window.

"finn." y/n smiled.

"yeah." finn turned around and smiled.

"i knew it was you that put your phone number in my apron earlier." y/n laughed.

"yeah, we should go to the may cafe tomorrow. at 5." finn winked and made y/n.

"stop oh my gosh haha and yeah at 5." y/n & finn smiled and he left.
