Sophie’s POV

I spent the rest of the morning skyping with everyone in Australia. We talked for hours until amy said, ‘shit, its 1;30am and we have school! We should go girls! We all said bye and how much we missed each other, and they all left. I decided to go out for lunch and changed out of my trackies into some skinny jeans. I swapped my hoodie for a cute denim jacket. I straightened my hair and left to find some food.

I wandered around for a bit, until I found a nice little café. I had a toasted sandwich and a hot chocolate to warm up. While I was eating, I checked my phone.

 4 unread messages

The first three were from mum:

1.       moving trucks are annoying, might be home later, depend on if the ning nongs ever get here. X

2.       moving truck’s here, they are moving it all inside. Should be home on time :) x

3.       ugh, they broke one of the chairs :( what are you doing?

I replied, that’s good mum, im at a café for lunch, I put all the groceries away, im going to explore for a bit :) x

I opened the last message, it was from Louis, remember, if you need ANYTHING, to call me. A tour guide, a friend, a shoulder to cry on, call the number :) Lou

I replied, thanks Louis :) I will, haha I promise

I sent it and pulled the map of london out of my bag. I looked at it, trying to decide what to do. I scanned the map until I saw one of my weaknesses, the library. I’m a bit of a book nerd. I knew I had to go, so I paid for lunch and left a good tip for the waitress. I hailed a taxi and asked them to take me to the library.

I spent the rest of the afternoon there, looking through all the books. I got a library card and borrowed a couple of books. I left to start heading home. I decided to walk through a park that looked like a shortcut to the hotel. I was looking around me at the park when I walked straight into someone, damn I’m clumsy. ‘im really sorry, I wasn’t looking.’ I said, helping up the boy I knocked over.

‘no problem, love. I wasn’t looking either. Hey, you aren’t from around here, are you?’

‘nope, I moved here yesterday from Australia.’ I replied

‘well I’m Leon.’ He smiled.

‘sophie’ I replied.

‘well, I’ve gotta go, but I might see you around.’ He smiled

I said bye and continued walking to the hotel, making sure I looked where I was going this time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got to the hotel in one piece and went up to our room. Mum wasn’t home yet. I checked the time 6pm. I ordered some chips from room service and started reading my books. The chips came and as I finished them, mum walked in. ‘moving people are so annoying’ she said to me. ‘but everything is finally done.’ She flopped down onto the couch. ‘did you have a good day?’

‘yeah, it was pretty good. I went to the library.’ I looked at her, she hated that I was so into books, she was more of a girly girl and wanted me to be more into shopping and guys. Just like she was when she was my age. But I’m just not like that I guess.

She rolled her eyes, ‘did you make any friends?’

‘yeah I did actually’ I smiled and thought of Louis.
