SOPHIES POV
BANG
‘ouch’ I groaned and picked myself up on the floor. It took me a second to remember where I was. London. Not Australia. Not with any of my friends. The thought depressed me and I grabbed some clothes out of my suitcase. I went to the bathroom and had a hot shower. When I finished I got dressed in some skinny jeans and a loose hoody. I tied my hair up into a ponytail and went to the kitchen.
Mum was cooking pancakes, I sat at the table and she brought over two plates. ‘here you go.’ She passed me one of the plates and I started eating. ‘so today, we are gonna go to the new house and explore it and then we might do a bit of sightseeing.’ She said to me.
‘ok’ I said, sightseeing would be fun. I managed a small smile. maybe this could be like a holiday.
After I finished eating I grabbed my backpack and put my phone, camera, ipod, wallet, and sunnies. I changed out of my hoodie and put on a loose knit top. I pulled on my converse and went to find my mum. I eventually found her in the bathroom doing her hair.
‘im ready to go’ I said to her
‘okay, ill be done in a second.’ She straightened the last strand of her hair and grabbed her handbag. ‘lets go’ she said to me. We went to the lobby and got a taxi to the new house. It was an alright house, just average. We went inside and mum gave me a tour. ‘this will be your room.’ She told me. I walked in and looked around. It was a pretty cool room, I had to admit. It was pretty big with cream coloured walls and had a window seat facing the front garden. There was a huge wardrobe across one of the walls. I saw a door and opened it into my very own bathroom! I smiled at mum, ‘this is an awesome room.’ She looked pleased with my reaction.
‘you can paint it a different colour if you want.’ She smiled at me. ‘come see the rest.’
By the end of the tour, I decided that I really liked the house, especially my room. ‘can we go sightseeing now?’ I asked mum.
‘yeah sure sweety.’ She replied, we spent the rest of the day walking around London. We visited all the tourist places and took photos everywhere. We got home pretty late with bags full of shopping. Clothes, dresses, hats, watches, shoes, fridge magnets, post cards - you name it, we probably had it. I wrote on the post cards to each of my friends before I pulled on my pyjamas and went to watch a movie with mum. We sat on the couch together watching ‘shes the man’, eating chips and lollies (our very healthy dinner). ‘so do you like England?’ mum asked me. I was prepared for this.
‘it IS nice, but I like Australia better.’ I replied.
‘you will always like Australia better, that’s where you grew up. But you might like it here more than you think you will.’ She smiled and then yawned. ‘and with those wonderful words of wisdom, I am going to bed. Night.’ She kissed me on my forehead and went to her bedroom. I yawned and turned off the tv, heading to my bedroom.

‘hey soph’ my mum called, waking me up.
‘mmmmm?’ I replied, half asleep.
‘can you go to the supermarket and get me some groceries?’
‘cant it wait till im awake?’
‘no, I really need them now.’
‘ugh, okay then.’ I got out of bed and got changed into black trackies and a blue t-shirt. I grabbed my hoodie and went downstairs.
