LOUIS POV

I watched her pull out of the driveway. What was wrong? 5 minutes ago we were so happy. I racked my brain to try and think of a reason for her to be so upset.

Then it hit me. Why was she so close to the door when she called out? She could have called from down the hall. She must have heard me on the phone.

I walked inside and sat on the couch, running my hands through my hair. ‘she must have thought that I.. but I don’t.. but she doesn’t know.. and we nearly..’ I muttered to myself.

A voice came from behind me, ‘you do know that talking to yourself is the first sign of craziness right?’ I whipped around.

‘oh, hey harry.’ I said.

‘whats wrong boobear?’ he asked.

‘I screwed up again Haz.’

‘what happened?’

‘she heard me on the phone.’

‘what, when you were talking to me?’

‘yeah,’ I nodded, ‘she must have thought I was talking to another girl.’

‘so where is she then?’

‘she left.’

‘oh.’

I hung my head. ‘why don’t you try calling her?’ Harry suggested, passing me the phone.

‘alright.’ I dialled her number, crossing my fingers she would pick up.

SOPHIE POV

My ringtone blared in my ear as I woke up from my deep sleep. I looked around, I was lying on top of my bed fully clothed. I must have had make up all over my face from crying so much.

Then I remembered my phone. I picked it up and answered without looking at the caller ID. ‘hello?’ I said groggily.

‘oh, sorry, er, I didn’t think youd be asleep, i-‘

The voice was very familiar. I looked at the caller ID and my suspicions were confirmed.

‘look Louis,’ I cut him off, ‘why don’t you call your other girlfriend, im not in the mood right now.’ I snapped.

‘but sophie, your not listeni-‘

‘no, you’re not listening. I don’t want to speak to you right now.’

‘please soph-‘

‘good night Louis.’ I said and hung up on him. I turned the phone off and slumped back down on my bed.

Mum walked in and sat on my bed with me. She must have heard me talking. ‘everything alright?’ she asked.

I just nodded.

‘you know sophie, it’s okay to be upset. You have been so strong, I know this hasn’t been easy for you. Leaving all your friends behind, you can talk to me.’ She squeezed my knee and rubbed my leg comfortingly. I felt my eyes fill with tears and leaned into her. She put her arm around my shoulder. I felt a few tears fall down my cheeks.

I sobbed into her shoulder for a few minutes as she held me. We were silent and she rubbed my shoulder. The tears dried up and mum kissed me on the top of my head.

‘do you want a hot chocolate?’ she asked.

‘no thanks, im just gonna go back to sleep.’

‘alright sweety, let me know if you need anything, alright?’ she stood up as I nodded.

‘thanks mum.’ I gave her a small smile and she turned off the light as she walked out.
