Oh shit. That was my first thought as I flew awake. Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. I had no idea what time it was but if the light flashing in through the window was any indication, it didn't really matter. I would not be going back to sleep tonight. A horrendous clap of thunder made me jump off the couch I'd been sleeping on. II was on tour with my best friends who also just so happened to be the band Tokio Hotel. Since they'd be in this particular city for a few days they'd gone ahead and gotten a hotel suite of which I'd gotten the couch.
A particularly strong flash of lightening appeared in the window and was almost immediately followed by an even stronger clap of thunder. Oh, how I hated storms. Especially the ones at night because they either kept me up or woke me up. Either way, it meant that I got almost no sleep.
This storm looked exceptionally bad. Lightening flashing literally every other second, thunder clapping every few seconds, and hard rain. I was still standing in the same place where I'd jumped a few minutes ago.
I couldn't decide what to do. Try to tough it out and go back to bed? Wake one of the boys? Stay up and try not to freak out too much? Trying to go back to bed would be pointless so that left me two options. I knew that the boys were supposed to have a few interviews tomorrow so I kind of hated to wake any of them up which left me one option. I sighed; it was going to be a long night.
Slowly and hesitantly I made my way back over to the couch where I'd been sleeping to dig my iPod out of my bag and to check the time on my cell phone. 4:33am. Damn.
As I predicted, it was a long night. Well, morning technically. I spent the time alternating between sitting on the couch and standing indecisively in the middle of the room, trying to lose myself in the games on my iPod and listening alertly to the storm searching for any sign of change. Finally, seven o'clock came and with it my hope that the guys would be getting up soon. If there was one thing I hated more than storms, it was being alone during one.
I was playing a word game on my iPod when Gustav made an appearance around seven-thirty AM. He gave me a sleepy half-wave as he made his way to the coffee maker. Georg and the twins began appearing once the smell of coffee was in the air. We ate breakfast in silence-the boys were all still waking up and I was still trying not to freak out too much. Once they were done, it didn't take long before they were dressed and ready. Well, except Bill of course. He always took the longest.
There were two interviews scheduled for today but both were supposed to take place in the hotel. Fortunate for us but not the interviewers. Watching the rain pour down and the lightening flash, I wondered how they would make it to the hotel.
Bill had just reappeared dressed and made-up when Jost called to tell the band that the first interview had been cancelled due to the storm.
"Well, that gives us from now until 3pm to do what we'd like." Tom said after hanging up.
"Well we obviously can't go anywhere." Gustav said.
"We could..." I started but just then Bill stood up.
"I don't know about you but I am going back to sleep for a few hours." He announced.
Once he'd shut the door to his room, Georg turned to me. "What were you saying?"
"Oh, I was just saying we could match movies or TV or something."
"Yes! Let's!" Tom said.
"I know the Batman series is on all day." Gustav offered. We all looked at him. "I saw it when I was flipping channels last night." He shrugged.
Tom grabbed the remote and the rest of us took a seat either on the couch or one of the two chairs. Gustav winked at me and took one of the chairs. I mock glared at him in return. He and the twins knew about my crush on Georg. It had started two years ago when he briefly dated a girl named Misty. Obviously their relationship hadn't lasted but I'd found that I didn't like the thought of him being with someone else.
