the outfit laid across jungkook's mattress on the floor was one to be excited for.
he couldn't wait to wear the loose hanging clothes that you'd more commonly see on a female; but when did gender roles ever stop him?

a smile made its way to his face as his eyes land on the box that sat in the middle of the large room, which was specifically for his lights. blu-tack was sat on top of the neatly winded decorative lights, waiting to hold up the little hanging stars.

the fairy lights were a mode of comfort for jungkook, they have been ever since he was young; there was something about the multi-coloured globes that put him at ease. he couldn't pin point it, but a clean room with some soft candles and his lights was enough to help him calm down. although, its not something that's terribly unique, either. he's sure that many teenagers like the smell of fresh bed sheets against newly washed skin, the cool breeze coming through the windows on a summer night, the smell of aromatic candles slowly finding their way out with the receding wind. lights strung up to create a little array of stars; his very own universe just close enough to touch. something he feels like he can adjust and no one would get angry for it.

so that's where we sit now, in a big soft pink room, not quite completed but still as calming as ever. jungkook was working quite hard to get the lights up how he wanted them, however he was a bit on the short side; so he had to stand on a chair.

he continued his decorating spree for another two hours, only stopping when his dad walked in. "hey kiddo, dinners almost ready, would you mind lending a hand getting everything set up?" the tall man asks with a soft smile, watching his son freeze on the chair he was perched upon. "sure thing, dad." jungkook's eyes travel to the bed frame leaning against the wall, an idea popping into his head,  "if i do all that and help mum prepare the last things, could you pleeease set up my bed?"

jeon jinsoo laughs gently, nodding his head. "of course i can, now go help your mother."

jungkook grins, hopping off his chair and tackling his dad with a quick hug. he then sped off down the stairs to the kitchen.

the house, all in all, wasn't as bad inside as it seemed to be outside. it was secluded from most things and had a nice large property, but it was also different from the modernized buildings around it. thankfully, the stores across the road proved to be rather helpful as they didn't have any ingredients to make a meal with. but, knowing his mum, she could make an old boot taste pretty dang good.

"hello mum~ do you need any assistance with cooking?" jungkook shuffles over to his mum, resting his chin on her shoulder. "well its almost done i think, i'm just about to grab out the samosas, if you wouldn't mind putting some rice in the rice cooker though, that'd be great."

jungkook had similar features to his parents, the bunny smile being one of them. he got that from his mum, who has a petite face that completely goes with her soft smile. jungkook got his nose from his dad, which was a little too big for his liking- but, cute nonetheless.

------------------------------------------

the morning was a bit chilly, not at all what jungkook had expected around this time of year. the sky was grey, and the flowers stayed shut, making it feel a little more like winter than spring. he clutched his books in his sweater clad arms, glasses slowly sliding down his nose as he stares blankly at his feet. he didn't expect to go back to school a day after moving, but he didn't want to make a bad impression to the school, by skipping a day.

music played through his ears, the soft voice of 'hippo campus' calming his nerves only slightly. the breeze was beginning to turn into some angry wind, almost knocking the poor boy over, as he wasn't really the most stable person.

the next thing that startled jungkook was the large white bus pulling over, the door opening slowly. jungkook contemplated running back inside, to his warm bed and nice smelling room, but he sighed and boarded the noisy bus.

all eyes were on him as he scanned the vehicle for an empty seat, moving towards one that was unoccupied completely. the vibe that was given off from the other students was quite intimidating, but jungkook promised his mum he'd be strong.

promises aren't made to be kept, though.
