The weekend went by fast. When I blinked it was already Sunday. I didn’t get a good night’s sleep so I wasn’t in the best of moods considering what’s going to happen tonight. On the one side I was excited and on the other I wasn’t.
I walked into the kitchen and got myself a coffee. I walked to the living room and saw Hadley studying
“Well good morning” she chirped and I glared at her.
“There is nothing good about this morning” I said taking a sip of my coffee and lighting a cigarette.
“Oh come on. You go through this every Sunday you should be used to it by now”
“Well there’s that and then there’s Baba’s girl. Keeping me up most of the night. I swear that man has the stamina of a fucking horse” I closed my eyes and laid my head back on the couch.
“Yeah why do you think I’m here and not in my room. I wonder if he ever sleeps. I mean you guys work from what 8 am until 3 am the next morning. Then he brings a girl home, they bang and when he bids her a dew he doesn’t even look like he has bed hair”
“Maybe we should get him a gag ball for the loud ones”
We heard giggling and soft footsteps approaching the front door. Hadley and I looked at each other. I looked over the edge of the couch and sure enough the man doesn’t have bed hair. I slowly slide down the couch and put one of the scatter cushions over my head. I really had enough of that woman’s voice.
“Morning girls” he said in his monotone voice. You would think that because he banged the entire night that he would at least be happy about it but he sounded like just Baba. I sat up right again and took my coffee from the table.
“Hey Baba when do you sleep?” Hadley asks. That girl has no filter and it’s one thing that Baba can hate is when someone tries to fish out about his personal life.
“Why do you ask?” he says and joins us in the living room with his own cup of coffee. There was a stare down between the two of them. I looked towards Baba and then again towards Hadley. He was glaring and she was smiling.
I put my cigarette out and took my cup for a fill up. “Babba I don’t need you today. So you have the day off. Get some sleep or something.” I say and stand up before I get dragged into the starring contest.
He stands up and follows me to the kitchen. “You know I can’t do that, I need to protect you”. I pour the coffee into the cup and add milk. I stir the coffee and walk towards the door.
“I’m going to be home the whole day and Alexander is picking me up for the dinner tonight so I won’t need you.” I said.
Then I hear him following me “Since when do you trust that man Ann Marie?” I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
“Since he has a proposition for my father. My father insisted on him coming to the dinner. Besides I think you need a little bit of sleep. You’ve been banging everyone out of their sleep lately.” His mouth fell open in shock. I turned around and went to my bedroom.
The day went by very very slowly. I checked on Hadley during the day and when I passed Babba’s room I saw him sleeping. Maybe he did need sleep.
The evening came rolling on and before I knew it I could hear the roar of an engine that didn’t belong to me and I knew it was Alexander.
I quickly took a look in the mirror, grabbed my bag and went downstairs. I heard the doorbell ring and Hadley opening the door.
“Well aren’t you handsome” I heard Hadley speaking.
“Hadley go study or something” I said very annoyed at her. She would jump his bones in seconds if I weren’t here.
“I like her” he says smiling at her walking away.
“Don’t even think about it. So are you trying to make an impression or intimidate someone?” I asked looking him over. He cleaned up nice. His curly hair was loose and made his face even more attractive than it is. His jeans stuck to him like a cowboy’s. But before he notices that I was staring I whip my head up and looked at his face.
