I entered the grocery store pushing my wagon in front of me. I usually get my groceries delivered to my home, but I needed to get out of the house. Sarah had been leaving every night and coming home late afternoon the next day. She reeked of booze and sex everytime. She's always smiling ear to ear. I've stopped putting in effort in trying to talk to her and asking her where she is going. Its like we're just roommates now, not husband and wife. At least she's happy.
And after a very conflicting couple of weeks where I sat thinking about my non existent future with Cherry, I decided to forget about her. She was a fantasy. Just a fantasy. Someone that I could go and see dance on some weekends at 'Honeys'. I don't think that I want to see her again though. She was to much for my mind to handle. She was all I could focus on. It's not healthy. Life must go on.

I made my way over to the vegetables. Their bright colors were refreshing and inviting. I picked out some avocados, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, onions, and asparagus.
I wheel my cart over to the fruits. I examine a sets of bananas making sure that they are perfect. My attention is pulled away from the bananas by a few apples falling and rolling everywhere one rolling towards the white Converse I'm wearing on my feet. I pick up the Apple laughing.

"I think you dro-" my words stop as the woman turns around. A gasp almost leaves my mouth as I look at the girl who has clogged my mind for weeks. The woman who I just declared that I would stop thinking of. Cherry.

Her hair isn't red though. It's curly and black in a nice fro that goes a bit past her ears. She was so beautiful. She wore black shorts and a long white t-shirt that said SMILE:). Her feet held gray fluffy house shoes. She looked so different. Realization of who I was went through her eyes also.
"Oh, hey you." She said smiling.

"Hey Cherry- Oh, Oh gosh I mean Angel." I stammered face palming. A giggle fell from her plump soft looking lips.
"Its okay. You can call me Cherry if you want." She smiled. I looked into her brown eyes still baffled at the situation. I can't believe she's here. I can't believe I'm seeing her right now.
I placed the Apple in my hand back on the Apple stand.

"What's your name? I never asked" Cherry asked.

"Da-David." I stutter. God I can barely speak. I took a deep breath and smiled trying to shake off my nerves.

"Do you live around here?" I asked. The store was no where near the club and the homes around here are pretty expensive. Not that she can't afford-Its just...their really expensive.

"Yes. I live in my parents guest house. Right down Maple. It's better than living in my colleges dorms" She laughed. So she's in college too.
Maple. She lived so close to me. About 10 minutes. I'm a science man and I believe that everything that is real can be tested, proven, and seen. But what are the odds that the girl that I have been thinking about for weeks is here today at the same grocery store as me, at the fruit isle, and lives about 10 minutes away from me? What are the odds of this encounter? It's just too weird.
"So... would you like to join me for dinner tonight David?" Cherry asked.
My name leaving her mouth made my heart spead up. She. She asked me to dinner. She wants me to go to her home tonight.

"I'm a pretty good cook." She smiled.

"Just as friends though." She put her hands up in defence.

"I see that wedding ring. Your wife can come too of course." She laughed. If only she knew just what my marriage was like. I look down at my finger. Then back to Cherry. I should really take this damn thing off.

"Okay. Sounds great. My wife probably won't be joining us though...she is usually ...busy" I lied.
All thoughts of forgetting about Cherry had left my head. I want her. I want her so bad. Not only in a physical way, but emotionally too. I want her. I want her so bad.
