Petals Of Change

The cherry blossoms are ever falling.

Floating and calling,

Like the notes of music.

They ride along the wind as if it was their melody.

So subtle,

Yet outstanding.

They swirl and twirl in a tireless dance.

How graceful they are,

Performing like that.

It's a sight beyond my comprehension.

I smile and watch.

"What a wonderful thing."

Can this be pure joy in my heart?

Something so small,

Yet it's such a change.

Flower by flower falls to the grass.

Petal by petal,

They sing their song.

An everlasting harmony of colour.

Struggling for words to describe it.

They are beautiful,

Like so many of us.

Some differ in their colour preference,

But it doesn't matter.

They are all petals.

If only all of us could understand this.

A simple message,

From one to another.

We're individuals of the same thing.

I sigh in sorrow.

"How sad we all are."

How does one not see another?

Maybe if we tried,

We all could change.

Flower by flower falls to the grass.

Petal by petal,

They sing their song.

Never minding why or where they land.

Another watcher steps into the light.

Their eyes wide,

Awe inspired.

Like they haven't seen the world before.

Can they see it?

Do they hear it?

The petals continue their performance.

It's picked up,

Becoming intense.

They flutter into a suspenseful tango.

The stranger smiles.

"It all makes sense now."

They whisper their awakening.

They've seen light,

And they've changed.

Flower by flower falls to the grass.

Petal by petal,

They sing their song.

To be carried into a brighter future.

We laugh happily.

"I can hear the message."

Bidding farewell,

The petals change.

Flower by flower falls to the grass.

Petal by petal,

They sing their song.

Someday we'll all change our tune.

Don't you think these would be good lyrics? I just need a tune for it.
