I'd Rather Go Hungry

Why would you do that?

Send me into such a dark place.

You stabbed me,

And it went deep.

The wound is eternal,

Black and filled with pain.

It immobilizes me.

Makes me just stare.

I'd rather go hungry than feel this.

I numb it with anything,

and everything.

Mind distracting games,

Words to create my own story,

Useless sounds to drown it out.

At the end of the day,

It doesn't work.

I'm still the same lonely girl,

The one who barely functions on her own.

It makes me sick at times,

But I've been destroyed.

So I'd rather go hungry,

Anything but this.
