"Hey, honey," My dad says, not looking to me.
"Hey," I answer, "Gotta go, bye."
"Bye, honey," My dad says, not looking to me.Jenna is in the library when I get there, texting someone, but sets her phone down when she sees me.
"The weirdest thing happened yesterday," I inform her and she nods.
"You went shopping with Jason Peters?" Jenna guesses and I furrow my eyebrows, sitting down across from her.
"How'd you know?"
"Sydney has it on her Instagram page," She answers and folders her arms on the table, leaning on them.
I roll my eyes, "It's not what it looks like, I swear."
"What was it then?"I explain to her than I ran into him in the medicine aisle and he followed me around after that. And that I did not interrogate him about his life nor did he, in no way, indicate that he wanted to 'get down' with me. This disappoints her for some odd reason, but she shrugs it off.
"That's okay," Jenna laughs, pulling out her textbook.
"I know," I answer and pull out my own textbook, "He's not my type."
"You don't have a type," She says, "You've said it yourself."
"You listen too well," I reply, chuckling.
"What are friends for?" She questions with a smile, then opens her book to the page with the homework.
"I got some bad reviews from the sub," Mrs. Monroe says as she walks into class.
"Ugh," Charlie groans, "Can we give you bad reviews on him? Cause damn he was bad."
"Oh, come on--" Monroe starts to say, but Adia cuts her off.
"No. He was bad. He made fun of my weight."
"Oh god," Monroe replies, "I'm so sorry. I'll ask the school to never hire him back."
"Jayce was immediately sent out because he wanted to be called Jayce," Someone says from the back of the room and Monroe looks over to Jayce who just shrugs.
"Sounds like you got out easy," She says.
"The guy in the office agreed that Johnson is full of it," Jayce comments and a few people snort.Monroe laughs, "Well, I'm back now, so we can do the lesson that was planned for Friday. Can you all take your notebooks out?" Everyone slowly takes their notebooks out, and as we wait, Jayce leans over to me.
"The Advil works great," He informs me, "Took the cramps right away."
"Doesn't distract from the waterfall though, right?" I ask with a smile, looking over towards him.
"Right," He answers, and furrows his eyebrows a little, shaking his head, "the flow is a bitch."
"Definitely," I answer with a small laugh.
Monroe clasps her hands together, causing Jayce to sit upright, and starts the lesson on Agatha Christie."You're not good at spying," Jenna informs me on our way to Psychology.
"Paying attention," I correct, "And I don't care--I don't want to stalk him. It's an invasion of privacy."
She rolls her eyes at me, "Come on. That's exactly what it is. Oh my god. You know why you don't want to stalk him? Because you like him. You want to learn about him through dates and hanging out."
I smack her arm playfully, "I do not."
"You want to fuck him," She informs me and makes a 'tsk' sound.
"I don't want to fuck him," I retort and smack her on the arm.
A couple people glance over, and Jenna tells me to shut up."Fuck who?" Kaylee asks, suddenly right next to me.
"Jason Peters," Jenna answers for me.
"Ooh," Kaylee coos, "I'm not opposed to that. You'd be cute together."
"No," I state, "Absolutely not. Never."
"You're so boring," Lib informs me.
"I am not going to fuck--hi, Jayce," I say, cutting myself off mid-sentence to greet Jayce who's just cut me off.
"I don't mean to interrupt that wonderful conversation," He says, glancing back.
"Did you hear any of it?" I ask, knowing that if he did I'm going to literally die.
"I did not," He answers, then smirks a little, looking at Kaylee and Jenna."Anyways," I say, causing his eyes to flick back to me, "You cut me off. If we were driving, I'd be tailgating you."
"Well, you basically are," Jayce says, then stops quick so I run into him.
Jenna and Kaylee snort and I smack Jayce, who looks back with amusement in his eyes. I notice that Kaylee has moved to the other side of Lib, and Jayce falls back in pace so that he's walking next to me.
