"Ding Dong" Went the doorbell. I was waiting for the call of my mother to tell me my best friend Georgia was here.
"Jasmine! Georgia's here!"
"Okay mum!" I quickly packed my school bag and ran downstairs to the door.
"Hey Jasmine!" Georgia said in her South American drawl. Georgia had just moved into our street all the way from America. It was my job to make her feel more 'settled' in England, however it wasn't all good. First of all, Georgia seemed to critizise everything you did. Every time you'd 'get something wrong' she'd say "thats not how you do it in America!" It really got on your last nerve. Secondly, she would call me names. I had told my mum about this before, but she said that she was just home-sick and wanted to go back to America.
"Hello? Earth calling Jasmine!"
"Wha-?"
"Come on sleepy-head its time for school!"
"Oh. Right. Bye mum see you later!"
And with that I slammed the door, linked arms with Georgia and together we began the 2-mile walk to school.
