On your right You saw a man cutting a woman's hair
To the left you saw two stores one was a meat food market and the other was the doctor

Nick walked ahead of you
You made eye contact with him as he signaled you to follow him
Walking to the ally you saw a bright text saying
'Detective'

Looking for the ally you saw nick with pink neon light shining bright behind him and walked into the house where you once lived

You read another text with a heart and an arrow across it

'Valentine Detective Agency'

Nick opened the door for you
Your eyes widened as the room that was once a living room with a small kitchen change to a full room with two desk and file containers along with boxes and papers everywhere

"So.. what's up the the Detective stuff? What happened to being the machine that can fix everything?" You asked as he held open the door letting you in first

"It's a long story.. so first-" nick was cut off by another woman's voice

"Nick? Is that you?!" You watched as a woman come out from the other room and jump into his arms

"Hay Ellie.. why are you here, I thought you'd be at home" nick said holding her

"I was so worried I told you it was a trap!" She said still holding him

You felt a little uncomfortable and had a wired feeling, you felt anger
You didn't know why

You cleared your throat
"Eheemmmm.. I'm here too, just letting you know" you said with your arms crossed

Nick pulled away from the hug want to your side
"Ellie, I want you to meet her, this is (y/n).. she is the one I've been looking for. She's my doll" nick said

You felt a light blush creep up
Making your cheeks light pink

"That's her?! I thought you were looking for a kid! Not a woman!" She said pointing at your boobs

"Hay! Just because they are bigger than yours doesn't mean you can point them out like that!" You said covering yourself

"Ok that's enough, Ellie go home.. " nick said pushing her out
She stopped her self at the door
"What about her?! Why don't you send her home?!" She said covering with one arm and the other pointed at you

You walked up to her and smacked her hand down
"It's rude to point at other people, and I am home.." you said pushing her out yourself and slammed the door behind her

"Well then.. " nick said

"She was being a bitch! Don't act like it was all me!" You said

"I know it wasn't you and I'm not saying it was you just, i don't know, anyways, we've got a lot of stuff to be talking about" he said as he sat down in he's chair at the desk closest to the door
You sat on the desk in front of him

"So, about the outfit.." you said taking off his hat and putting it on

"I'm a Detective now as you can tell..
I rescued the mayors daughter, gal about 15. Proud of the mayor back then remember Henry Robots?" Nick asked

"Oh yeah! He was very strict.. scary to.." you respond

"Well, I helped to save the girl that day, she decided to run off with these guys she had uh.. known for any evening.." nick said in a low voice

"Really? Wow!" You said

" well turns out that the guy was part of a gang of kidnapers.. didn't even know who I was helping.. just found a little girl crying.. around 4 other guys. That kinda reminded me of you, helping a little girl" Nick said looking down at his metal hand

"Woah woah! Wait! You took down 4 guys?!" You said practically leaning on him

"I didn't have to, remember synths weren't all that known, I just walked in and said I was
'Set to self destruct' and just started
'Peep peep peep peep'
The hardest part of that was try not to laugh as I watched them climb over each other to escape" nick said laughing to him self

"You asshole.. that's amazing!" You laughed with him

"So,I took her him and the mayor called me a hero letting me permanently stay in diamond city. Of course some people didn't like it, most said I was a spy. The mayor just ignored it saying I wasn't" nick paused

" so.. was it hard after i left?" You asked nervously

"Was it hard? Dam it was hell, the worst part was coming home knowing I had no one to go home to.. nothing changed though, I was still working as the Diamond City handy man, did the work no one wanted to do.. but I guess some people didn't forget that I helped rescue the mayors daughter. People started coming to me when people went missing.

"Woah.. sounds like life was very exciting for you" you said with your head resting on your hands and your elbow resting on your legs as you sit cross cross

"But yeah, more and more people came to me for that type of work it was months before I started charging people I was so excited. I then put on the outfit to let people know I was serious about it"

"You look good as a detective you know, it suits you some how.." you said as you started to look through files

"Didn't know him but the way the boys over at Dugout Inn said he was a good man, hard worker..". Nick said holding and lighting a cigarette you looked over at him

"Hay, no fair share at least.." you said with an hand out

"Sorry doll.. didn't know you smoke"
He handed you a cigarette and pulled out a lighter. You placed the cigarette at your lips and watched try to lit the cigar

"Ah shit, I'm out.. oh well" nick said before getting up and leaned in closer to you. Your cigarettes touched each other's and watched as your lit up

You felt your face turn red
Breathing in the cigar and blew it into nicks face
"Could have told me.." you looked away with your cheeks bright red

"Anyways, can I help you with work? It says here that he wasn't seen leaving diamond city, so he still must be around, and cause you mentioned the boys from Dugout Inn we can talk to them see if we can get any information out of them.." you said looking at the files again

"Good idea, we'll start tomorrow morning, it's late you need to get some sleep" nick said grabbing your hand leading you up stairs

"Do I even have a bed?" You asked heading up stairs to where your room once was
Getting to the last step you looked around to see your room
It was exactly the way it was when you left
The teddy bear on the bed candles lit and your drawings from before
You looked in the drawers to see the same old clothes you had

"You kept it?" You asked turning to face nick

"I thought that one day I would find you again.. or maybe that you'd come back.. I almost decided to throw out the stuff to then let Ellie move in.. I'm glad I didn't" he said walking up to a wall with drawing pined in the wall

One of them was nick in a white shirt and the other was a little girl
You watched as nick ran his hand over it
You turned to your bed and picked up the bear and hugged

"I missed being home.."
