Heavy Lies the Head

Rural

A quiet, rural house.
Away from the city.
Just me, older brother and sister.

And faceless adults.

"Suck it up. It's not so bad."

They said.
After my older brother hit me in the ear.
Leaving a haunting ring, to this day.

"Don't touch your sister."

They screamed.
After I pushed her off me, after she scratched my face, and left it bleeding.

"They are just playing."
"If you do not want to be alone, suck it up."

I must make concessions.
I am mature.

I don't wanna be alone.
