"Let's do it one more time!" Jimin grinned through a microphone, prompting for one of the staff members to play Ddaeng for the third time. The prom party was only two days away and the boys did nothing but rehearse around the clock.

Jimin and the rap-line bobbed their heads and jammed along to the new bop blaring through the speakers of the Bangtan practice room. The boys rap-yelled synonymously and striked a pose every time 'ddaeng!' was dropped.

A wild Taehyung who had flung his shoes across the room—one of them almost hitting the cameraman—appeared and swaggered along with his hyungs barefoot. He put on his best I'm-totally-fine act and glided from one side of the room to the other on a rolling chair.

With every instance that he remembered himself demanding Jungkook to delete the photoshopped images he had with IU on his phone, Taehyung would try to shake it off by dancing even more aggressively.

"ILPAL, ILSAM, SAMPAL, DDAENG!" At this point he didn't care anymore and was practically screaming his frustrations away.

Nobody in the room noticed this though and continued to jam along to Taehyung's 'passionate' performance.

Jungkook didn't think much of Taehyung's overly active behaviour either. In fact, he found it pretty cute how the elder came in wearing a hat yet was now bopping around without it or his shoes.

He didn't get much sleep last night. And unlike Taehyung who was wilding with the others, he just didn't have energy to join in.

Jungkook watched the members while sitting lazily on a rolling chair settled on the corner of the room, with one leg resting on the other. He sighed into the neckline of his black hoodie.

Look at him,

running around all smiley and barefoot like that.

As if he wasn't all flustered and telling me to delete my pictures with IU yesterday.

Namjoon stole the spotlight by huskily rapping his lines and the fanboy in Taehyung came out; he strutted over to Namjoon and patted him on the chest on cue with the part where Namjoon rapped, "I'm ding-dong you're ddaeng."

Jungkook flinched at how touchy Taehyung was being with the others. He frowned. What is he doing?

The song ended but Jimin wasn't satisfied. He coaxed, "One more time!"

And so Ddaeng blasted through the speakers for the fourth time.

"Taehyung you can't get on stage with us."

"But why?"

"Because it's our performance."

Namjoon shrugged and walked ahead, with Taehyung tailing behind him and continuously begging him to let him join them during their Ddaeing performance.

Yoongi couldn't be bothered to comment on the younger's whining and Hoseok just laughed at the mental image of Taehyung crashing their performance.

The boys were walking back to their dorm with plastic bags of fried chicken takeaway in their hands. While Taehyung carried on with his attempts to convince the rap-line to let him get on stage with them, Jin chattered away with with his dongsaengs from behind.

Jungkook rolled his eyes at the eldest who had just delivered a dad-joke. Something about chickens and trucks, he didn't care.

His listened to his own thoughts over Jimin's laughter and Jin's bad jokes while eyeing Taehyung's back in front of him.

Is he just going to act like nothing happened?

His expression dimmed at Taehyung's carefree attitude.

This is kind of starting to piss me off.

He quickened his walking pace and tapped Taehyung on the shoulder. "Hyung, yesterday you—"

"Not now Jungkook, I'm in the middle of something." Taehyung looked at Jungkook over his shoulder and interrupted him, then turned back to the front and resumed his efforts to convince Namjoon to comply with his request.

Jungkook slowed down, letting the elder walk further and further ahead of him. He scowled.

Whatever.

He shrugged and went back to walking alongside Jin and Jimin, who both enthusiastically tried to enlighten him with the joke about the chicken and the truck.

This went on until they arrived the condominium and settled down at the dining area next to their living room. The boxes of fried chicken were opened, allowing the mouth-watering aroma of their contents fill the condo.

"Thanks for the food," the members thanked and snatched their share of spicy and cheesy fried chicken, devouring them to the bone.

"By the way, I think it's fine if Taehyung joins us for Ddaeng," Hoseok said through a mouthful of chicken, "The fans will like it."

Namjoon sighed, "Fine. Go ahead."

With a half-eaten chicken leg in his hand, Taehyung threw his arm up. "Yay!"

"You sure about that?" The boys turned to look at Jungkook.

The youngest continued to murmur, "It's supposed to be just the rap-line's performance though."

Jungkook didn't know why he was saying these. He knew it was totally unnecessary but he was too upset to control himself. I'd better stop talking before this goes too far.

Taehyung frowned. "Namjoon-hyung just said it's fine."

The younger stared blankly at his food. "But it would be better if you weren't there."

Ah,

shit.

Namjoon put down his chicken wing. "Jungkook, I really don't mind—"

"Why the hell do you care?"

Taehyung cursed, glaring at the younger. He didn't understand why Jungkook was acting this way and it was getting on his nerves.

Jungkook wiped his hands and mouth with a napkin and got up. "Whatever, I'm gonna sleep early tonight. G'night." he mumbled then made his way out of the dining area and into his room, leaving the rest of the boys awestruck and confused with his behaviour.

Jin audibly cleared his throat to break the silence. "So did you guys hear that joke about the chicken and the truck?"
