This takes place when they're older, like 17.

Marinette's POV

Cold. Why was it so cold? My eyes fluttered open. There I was. Stuck in a hospital gown in a hospital bed. All these tubes stretched from my arms and from my body. What happened?

"Marinette!" I heard a worried voice come from in front of me.

I looked up. Pressure started to push down on the sides of the bed as my parents stared at me worried with tears rolling down their cheeks. Why were they crying?

"Mom? Papa?" My voice was weak. Lost.

Everything must have overwhelmed me, because my body started to float yet again, in the cold void. I fainted.

Adrien's POV

"God damnit.." I paced around my room. Everything felt awful. My stomach begging to hug the toilet and vomit. This feeling had been continuous for over 17 hours.

"Kid, calm down. I'm sure everything's okay. It was just an accident, you were ju--"

"YES IT IS YOU DAMN KWAMI! I.. I did it. At this point, I don't care about that! I just hope I didn't.. You know.. Kill.. her.."

My lungs felt heavy. I collapsed onto my bed, my hands rambunctiously running through my hair. Salty water poured down my cheeks. What had I done?

"Adrien?" Nathalie's voice protested through my shut bedroom door.

I sighed and wiped my face. Plagg hid somewhere as usual. My body slumped out of bed.

"Yes?" I tried to say with my "happy-go-lucky" voice.

"Some people are here to see you."

Good god. Great.

"I'll be right there."

As I looked at my reflection in the mirror, anyone would've been able to tell I had been a shit show. After a couple of blinks and some water, at least my eyes didn't look like the red pits of hell they once were.

As I walked downstairs, my shoes made that tapping noise on the steps. The tapping noise that created a symphony of clocks in my head. Only a matter of time.

When I looked down the steps, there were the two people I expected to see. All bundled up in coats, scarves and earmuffs.

"Hey dude.." Nino's voice sounded so unusual. It was more.. quiet. Alya's too.

"Something erm.. happened with Mari." Alya was always smug, outgoing, bright and cheerful. Why wasn't she that way anymore?

It hurt to fake a pained and shocked expression along with that type of voice. Considering I knew what it was.

"What happened?" I asked.

There was a pause. Their eyes looked up at mine, pleading me to come and see their discovery. Tired, hurt, sad eyes.

So, I went along. I grabbed my coat, scarf, and beanie from the coatrack. "Nathalie, tell father I'm out."
