Marinette's POV
Today was the day. Today was the day I was released from this prison called a hospital. It felt so good to see what lied beyond my room. I was bouncing at the front desk, waiting for my parents to sign me out.
"Alright, thank you Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng. Have a good day!" The receptionist declared.
I practically ran to the elevators, holding on tight to Luka's flowers.
"Marinette! Be careful!" My parents screamed behind me.
I halted before an opening elevator.
"Eheh.. Sorry," I said apologetically.
For still being in pain, I was energized. I felt alive. I couldn't wait to feel the rush of jumping through Paris again.
Once we got home, I ran up to my room. I was almost there when mom caught me.
"Take your medication first, then you can enjoy the comfort of your room," she said, handing me pills.
I took them and continued up to my room. I would have taken them, but I knew that they would have the sleepy effect on me. So I put them on my desk and slammed my door. I was ready.
"Tikki? Tikki where are you? I need to transform!" I called.
"Marinette, you just got out. It's not best for you to go roaming Paris. Your stitches could pop out and open up the cuts again," she said flying out from behind me.
"I won't do anything bad Tikki, I'll be careful! I promise."
She sighed. "But Marinette--"
"Tikki, Spots On!"
Adrien's POV
I stared at my piano. Repeatedly hitting one of the notes started to sound distorted in my mind. My father had trapped me inside yet again because I had missed one teeny-tiny note in a complicated song. You'd think that that'd change over the years, right? Not in the Agreste household.
"My father is so la-aame, Plagg.."
"Yeah, but y'know.. nom.. what isn't lame?.. nom.. Camembert!" He replied between bites.
I slammed my head on the piano, creating a horrendous noise. Same old boring life.
"Haha! Yeah, I'm free!" I heard a familiar voice come from the window. Believe it or not, Ladybug was swinging from building to building, on her way to the Eiffel Tower. She was back!
"Ladybug's back! C'mon, Plagg, Claws out!"
After I transformed, I grabbed the previous akuma kept in a jar and hopped out my window.
Ladybug's POV
The wind in my face, flowing through my pigtails felt like heaven. If I could ever get high off of something, it would be this. I climbed up the Eiffel Tower and stood at the very top, letting myself fall into a backflip onto the top floor.
I sighed with a grin, watching over the city.
"So you were feline generous enough to drop back in today, milady?"
I turned and saw Chat Noir.
"Only cause you needed my pawsomeness," I replied.
"Hi kitty, good to see you."
"The same to you, Bugaboo. How was the mission?" He asked stepping closer.
Right, I had told him I went on a mission.
"It went just as planned, but you get no details." I winked at him.
"Aw, come on! At least where it was?" He pouted.
I shook my head with a smirk.
"Damn. Well, I brought this little fella," he said pulling out a small jar.
"The akuma! Right, here, set it free."
Chat did as he was told and I did the usual. I smiled, opening my mouth to say something encouraging, but instead came out a painful grunt. I bent over, covering my side. Everything feeling awful all over again. My mouth tasted of ash. My hands drenched in sweat. My body feeling paralyzed and freezing, like I felt in my void.
"Ladybug! Jesus, are you okay?!" Chat ran over to my aid and helped me up.
"Y-Yeah.. I just need to take it easy.." I replied between ragged breaths. My whole body went limp and slumped over onto Chat. "Hey.. What do you say we just chill here and watch the sun set?" I asked.
He picked me up bridal style and hopped to the roof of the top floor where he set me down next to him, my body still limp on him.
"Sounds fantastic. Are you sure you're okay?"
I coughed, getting something out of my throat.
"Just fine. Don't worry." I tapped his bell.
We sat there in silence. Staring at the horizon, watching the flaming ball fall behind it. After a few minutes, Chat asked me a question.
"Milady.. Did you hear anything about me while I was gone?"
I sighed. "No, I don't think so."
"Well.. Something happened awhile ago.. Saturday night to be exact," He mumbled.
I sat up to look at him.
"What happened? Was there an akuma attack?" I asked. Finally! I might get an answer!
"Erm.. yeah.. a very unusual one.. but who am I kidding.. I shouldn't tell you.. You'd think less of me.." He turned away from me.
I grabbed his shoulder and turned him back.
"Chat, you're one of my most trusted people on this Earth. You're one of my friends. Best friends really. I won't think less of you, things happen. Please, will you tell me?"
His eyes twinkled under the stars, for the sun had already set. He smiled softly.
"Alright.. Well.. It was Saturday night. I was with one of my b--"
"MUAHAHA! TAKE THAT PARIS!! LADYBUG, CHAT NOIR.. WHERE ARE YOU?" Several screams came from the city below, along with a loud call for them.
"Good god.. C'mon, lets go," Chat said standing up and helping me up as well. He extended his stick and started to fall into the city.
"Wait! What about the.." Shit. I was so. Damn. CLOSE. I fell after him, flying through the tower with my yoyo.
