Adrien's POV

I was the last to walk out of Marinette's room. But how could I help it? She truly looks like a sleeping princess.

As soon as I shut the door behind me, Alya and Nino were immediately on my tail.

"What the hell Adrien? Why didn't you tell her—"

"Alya, chill," Nino quieted her. "Why'd you say we didn't know?"

"Well.. if no one else told her, don't you think that we shouldn't either?" I replied. "They're probably protecting her.. from the truth."

They stared at me confused. "Why?"

I just shrugged. "I don't know."

Marinette's POV

I had managed to wake up for more than five minutes. Apparently, I had lost a lot of blood which resulted in me feeling lightheaded and nauseous. But this, unfortunately, was after visiting hours. They told me that they'd inform everyone at least.

But otherwise, I was getting the proper nourishment I needed. Lots of food and water... smoothies too. Every hour I started to feel stronger. At one point, I got up to use the restroom but was told to immediately sit back down while they covered it. Apparently I wasn't even in good enough condition to walk.

Eventually, my nurse left for the night and another returned. She said she'd check on me every hour and gave me a remote just incase I needed something. I looked over at the clock on the wall and realized it was nearly midnight. I should've been asleep by now.

I laid in bed with the lights off, watching some meaningless show I wasn't even paying attention to. That's when I realized, I hadn't really been by myself the past two days. That feeling didn't last for long.

"Marinette!!" A muffled noise came from the nightstand drawer next to my bed. I knew who was in it. I quickly opened it and out she flew.

"Tikki!" I pulled her close to my chest. "Tikki! I'm so glad you're okay! I didn't know what happened to you!" I rambled.

"Marinette, I'm glad to see you in better condition as well!" She flew out of my grasp to look at me with her cute cheeky smile.

"Tikki.. Why am I in here? What happened?"

Surely I could rely on her to tell me the truth. But even SHE didn't spill.

"I.. I think it's best you figure it out when the time comes. It was all an accident," she said while flying over to tap my nose. "Everything's okay. I promise." She smiled back at my small grin.

A tap on the window startled both of us. Tikki quickly dashed behind the bed. I looked over to my side, surprisingly seeing Chat Noir in my window. What was he doing here? I stumbled out of my bed, still feeling very lightheaded. I unlocked the window, and in he came.

Chat Noir's POV

"Didn't curiosity kill the cat?" Marinette said sarcastically.

"Hey, Princess," I replied calmly.

She smiled weekly. "Hi kitty. I didn't expect you to be here—"

Her tubes became tangled up in each other and she started to fall backwards.  Quickly, I reacted and caught her before anything could happen.

"Careful! You're already in bad condition. We don't need you getting worse do we?" I picked her up carefully and gently laid her on the bed, untangling her tubes and covering her up.

"Hey! I'm in great condition as far as you know," she replied confidently. Thought she was hurt, she still had it.

I pulled up a chair and sat at her side.
"Marinette, are you seriously okay?"

She sighed. "Physically.. no. Mentally..? ..no."

I sighed. "Where is it?"

She moved the blankets to the side and pulled the side of her hospital gown up, covering her breasts. As I assumed, she wasn't wearing a bra. (Chat isn't a pervert, they just had to take her bra off to attend to the wounds.) But there it was in all of its glory. Three large gashes spread wide open. Dried blood covered the edges along with bandages and ointment. It was horrifying to look at.

"They said they would cover it up more or stitch them, but it needs to breathe or something," Mari added.

"Oh god.. that's pretty gruesome.." I replied. "When do you think you'll be out?"

"Depends. The day I'm supposed to be out of here is Wednesday (it's Sunday night). But that's if this little shit decides to cooperate," she chuckled.

There was a brief silence.

"I'd also ask you what happened, but.. hell, you'd probably give me the same answer.. Nothing."

I sighed. My arm reached across her body to cup her cheek.

"Oh Mari, I would. But I don't know if they would want me to. I know know if I want you knowing.." I leaned in to stare at her pretty blue bell eyes. "All I can say is that it was an accident. Trust me." I smiled.

She returned with her typical soft, cheery beam of sunshine.

Marinette's POV

Chat leaned back and let go of my cheek. Part of me still wanted to hold him there, but I resisted.

"Well.. I believe visiting hours are over. I should get going," he said looking dejected and walking over to the window.

"Shall we meet again. Purrrinces."

Before he leapt out the window, miraculously, I jumped out of bed and caught him by the tail, nearly falling out of the window myself. The pain was excruciating and my tubes were more than close to popping off.

"Mari be careful! You're going to seriously injure yourself!!" He said while turning back to face me.

"Chat.." I started to say. My eyes drifted to his green radiant eyes, passionate and warm. My desires screamed to lean forward and to feel his touch. But yet again, I resisted.

"T-Thank you.. Goodnight, Chatton." I let go of his tail.

He smiled. "Goodnight, Marinette." And with that, he scampered off into the night.

I walked back over to my bed and sat down, reconnecting tubes. I cautiously laid back, avoiding any pain that was possible. Tikki had come to rest in my shoulder.

"Oh Marinette."
