"Wanna hangout?", Jenny texted me.

I asked Flora if I could go to Jennys but as usual she said no.

I went to my room and texted Jenny.

"Cant I am busy, maybe some other time."

Buzz Buzz

Jenny replied back, "But you always say that..."

I didnt reply back. I sat in my chair and sighed a long sad sigh.

I heard the garage open, that means Flora and Jacob are leaving. They wont be home till four.

My dad left to work so he wont be home till six.

I checked the time. 10:15 am.

I turned and looked at my wall. Its full of beautiful landscape pictures that I collect and pin them on my wall.

Flora once asked me why I collected landscapes. I told her that one day I'd like to live there.

She laughed at me. Her evil selfish laugh. When she left I quietly said that one day I'd like to live there far away from her.

On my wall of landscapes the very top says, "Where I'd Like To Be", in small cursive letters.

One landscape that always stood out to me was the "Always Beautiful" one. Its a pretty little bridge with a colorful autumn background and a clear river with leaves that reflects the bridge.

Thats where I'd like to be. Its somewhere far away from here, in Chicago.

I went outside and leaned back in my favorite red chair. I quietly listened, looked and felt.

The boat parked by the tree was quietly squeaking in the wind, the cars driving past my house, the plane flying above, the icy wind brushing against my cheeks, the birds flying south.

I heard a stick break behind me. I quickly turned around and saw a beautiful dog. It was big with a thick coat and sad eyes.

I got up and stroked the dogs thick fur. Its softer than it looks. I named him Joli. I named him that because I studied French and it means , very good.

Joli doesnt have a collar on so hes probably a stray. I went back to my chair and Joli followed.

I quietly pet Joli and started to fall asleep.

~~~
I started to hear footsteps so I woke up.
Someone was walking up to me but I couldnt quite see who it is. I stood up cautiously.
"Dont be alarmed, its just me.", he said awkwardly.
"Oh sorry Calvin, I couldnt see who you were.", I said apologetically.
Calvin is a year older than me, eighteen. Hes tall, handsome, and muscular. Hes my neighbor from a few blocks down.
We used to hangout a lot before Flora got married. Now he just comes and says hi.
"So I see you got a dog. Flora let you get one?"
"No, he just came up to me. I should probably hide him before Flora comes home.", I told him.
"I can hide him at my place if you dont mind. My parents wont care. You could come over everyday to hangout with him!" he said cheerfully.
"Are you sure? You'd have to feed him and clean him and..."
"Yeah, its no problem and maybe when you come over for him, we could also hangout if youd like.", he kindly said.
"Of course, I'd love to! You should take Joli to your house, Flora should be home any minute now." I said hurriedly.
"Okay see you tomorrow Chantel."
