𝒜𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝐵𝑒𝒶𝓊𝓉𝒾𝒻𝓊𝓁

Tunnels

We went a couple blocks down his house until there was mostly desert. He lead me down a steep slope with prickly branches and jagged rocks.

There were a couple tunnels, smaller than I expected...

"Are these the tunnels you talked about?"

"These? No mine are a bit farther." Calvin laughed.

On the walls of the small tunnel there was strange phrases like "keep diggin youll find the body".

There was another one that said "west side killers" and a ton of swastikas.

We came out of the tunnels and we had to walk on big rocks which probably meant a river used to be here.

We talked about school and friends, but never about our family.

He doesnt know Flora and dad always yell at me. Calvin thinks Flora hates him because she doesnt let us hangout anymore.

Joli barked. I turned around and saw what he was barking at. He was barking at a bush.

"Joli calm down", I said kindly.

We walked towards the bush and a small bunny ran out.

We walked further down the dried river and I screamed. "Snake!"

"Where?!" Calvin jumped.

"Oh never mind it was just a lizard." i said embarrassed. 

We walked for a long time. I mostly just looked at Joli wondering if he ran away. I looked at Calvin in front of me and wondered what he was thinking about.

"Are we almost there?", I said tiredly.

"Yes we're practically there Chantel."

"I dont even see it on the trail yet." I said confused. 

We went down a hill of rocks and there, you could see the tunnel.

We walked closer until we were about a few feet away from the tunnel.

I stopped. "I see something moving..." I quietly said.

Calvin thought i was kidding because of the lizard snake scenario.

Calvin kept walking, then a loud,scary, booming voice said, "I see you there!"

I didnt know how to react, I froze. "Go!" I slowly heard Calvin say.

I couldnt move. The person from the tunnel was wearing a black jacket with red "WS" on the sleeve. He probably has a gun or something.

Joli followed Calvin up the rocks. I tried to force my legs to move. I ran straight into prickly bushes and branches. By the time we got up the rock hill we stopped because the tunnel wasnt in sight.

I felt stinging pain shooting from my arm. I looked at my arm and there was scratches and blood. 

I poured water on them but it wouldnt stop bleeding. Calvin told me we could come back next week.

We decided to go back to Calvins house. I needed to disinfect my arm.

Joli was by my side as if he was trying to protect me.

I am in pain.
