You preferred the sunny days of the Miyagi Prefecture over the rainy days. It was mainly because of the wetness, you reasoned. Wet socks and wet clothes overall were never one's favorite—and if it were, they had to be questioned immediately.

Still, there was no way around them. And you found yourself walking through the rain with only an umbrella to keep you dry. There are other students much like yourself; making their way up the hill and towards Karasuno but you still can't help but feel like you've gotten the short end of the stick.

So far, nothings gotten wet. Your socks still feel somewhat dry, your shoes having gotten the brunt of the wet floors.

It's days like these you hated the most and while the rain makes it worse, the feeling that comes along a rainy day. The gloomy clouds that cover the morning sky, making everything look gray and dull. The feeling of something bad about to happen soon.

You hated all of it.

With a heavy sigh, you continued your trek up the hill in a much quicker pace. The faster you manage to get to school, the faster you'll be out of the rain.

"Hey, hey! Stingyshima!" The voice is familiar and you look up from your lunch to see an orange haired kid bothering Tsukishima. You feel for the tall blonde because no one would like to be called that lazy nickname. You've seen him around, but never enough to have made a proper conclusion about him.

Short, is one. But you suppose that's too shallow and quickly pushes the thought away. Still, his orange hair seemed out of place in such a rainy day. You can't help but compare him to the sun instead. But you brush the thought away as well.

"___-chan, are you going home right away?" Your friend asks, quickly pulling your attention away from the orange haired student and Tsukishima. They're smiling your way, completely oblivious to where your attention had been just a few seconds ago. "The rain doesn't seem to be calming down any sooner."

You nod, looking out the window and sure enough—it seemed like it was raining much harder than it had this morning. "I'm going to try to get home earlier, the sooner the better after all."

"Ah! You're right, ___-chan."

When you look back at Tsukishima's seat, the orange haired student was gone. Leaving Tsukishima to eat his lunch in peace and you frown, wishing you'd managed to catch a name.

The final bell rang more than a few minutes ago, but you haven't left the building due two two major things. One, the rain had gotten heavier so you found yourself staying in school along with a few other students who decided to wait it out as well. Two, your umbrella had gone missing. Sure, there were troublemakers in this school but you wondered if anybody would resort to thieving.

Well, obviously somebody resorted to that...the rain could really make people do just about anything.

You glance at the clock and decide to hit up the vending machine. Might as well get a quick snack if you were just going to stay stuck in school. Hopefully you could find somebody who can share an umbrella with you.

You find a vending machine posted just outside the school. It's under a roof, enough to keep you out of the rain but you feel a few specks hit your cheeks as you decide on a snack. There wasn't anything warm, most of them were room temperature or cold.

"Hey, you were in Tsukishima's class right?" The voice startles you out of your thoughts and you nearly jump out of your skin. Behind you is the same boy from earlier—messy orange hair and light brown eyes that seemed to twinkle despite the lack of light. He looks at you witb a twinkle of curiosity; eyebrows furrowed and mouth open to an o shape. "You must be smart then!"

"U-uh," you mutter, cursing at the stammer in your voice. "Yeah, I guess I am?"

A squawk of excitement leaves his mouth, as the curiosity is replaced by pure excitement. Despite the rain obviously pouring down from above, you find yourself blinded by the ray of sunshine in front of you.

"Can you help me study?" He asks. "It's me and my friend that need help! I promise we won't be annoying!"

You highly doubt that, from the way Tsukishima treated them earlier but you can't help but nod to his request.

"Really?!" His voice seems to grow louder as the conversation continues on. "Thank you so much!"

His hands find yours, calloused fingers tangling themselves against your fingers and a heat of embarrassent rushes up your cheeks.

This guy really had no sense of personal space, you think, fighting back the urge to pull away. He's jumping excitedly, looking like a little kid who'd convinced his mother to buy him a cone of ice cream.

He pauses all of the sudden, eyes wide. "Ah! Sorry! My name is Hinata Shouyo!"

You nod, watching as he continued to swing your arms around. "I'll show that Tsukishima that I didn't need him after all!"

There's a pause between the two of them and you can faintly hear Hinata's voice getting called rather angrily from far away. That freezes him on the spot and he retracts his hands.

"Ack! I have to go! I'll see you tomorrow!" It all happens in a rush and before you know it, he's running off. With him, left the artificial light he seemed to carry along with him.

You're left in front of the vending machine, speechless and suddenly filled with the same energy you get on sunny days. The rain is still continuing on, the pitter-patter of raindrops falling on the roof above your head is loud, but you can't help but feel as if you've bathed in sunlight.

"Yo, ___-chan! I found you!" It's a fellow classmate who brings you back down to reality, bounding up to you with an umbrella in hand. "I found your umbrella—oi, what's wrong with you?"

You turn his way, with the faintest of smiles on your face. Today was definitely one of the days you hated the most. Not only because it was wet and gloomy, but because you felt less energized during the day. The feeling of wanting to sit around at home to laze around overcame any other feelings and you despised it too much.

"Wh—"

"I think I just met the sun." You finally said.
