Remy let out a high pitched screech as she witnessed Chris gently floating out in the open water. It seemed as if he was lifeless, but it was hard to tell if he had just lost consciousness like James had. She hurried and ran towards where Greg had been in the cockpit and pulled him back to where she had seen Chris.
"We need to help him! He'll drown! It's freezing in there! He'll get hypothermia!" She shouted in a complete state of disorder. Greg scratched his head and tried to follow along with what Remy was saying, but he failed to understand what she was talking about. Once they reached the guard rails at the back of the boat, Remy pointed to the water and begged Greg to save Chris. When he looked over, Greg sighed and rolled his eyes.
"There's no one out there. You've been drinking too much..." He mumbled, walking back towards the front of the ship. Remy looked back towards the water and watched as Chris's body floated further and further away until finally it began to sink down into the bottomless ocean. She sobbed loudly and kicked her foot up against the guard rails while tears fell down her face. A hand reached around and patted Remy on her back, but when she turned to look to see who it was there was no one behind her. She felt extremely uncomfortable where she was standing, and so Remy decided to go see how James was doing. When she turned to leave, an eerie voice called out to her in a dead tone.
"Remy... Remy you could have saved me... You let me die... There's no hope for me now... I'm too far gone..."
She shivered in fear and turned around once again to see no one there, but when she began to walk towards James's room again, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her and caused her to fall backwards. The figure held out a hand to help Remy up from her feet. She happily obliged the help, but shrieked when she saw who it was. In front of her, standing in completely fine without a drip of water on him, was Chris. He had a rather flat expression on his face, but flinched once he heard Remy's screams of terror.
"I saw... You were... Why aren't... I thought... How are you not dead?!" She cried loudly. Chris winced from the painful screaming and groaned.
"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked her. Remy fell right back down and started to sob as loudly as she could. Soon after, her breath quickened and she was unable to calm herself down, so Chris tried to help her once again. She scooted away from him and back towards the rear end of the ship until she hit the guard rails. Chris signed and started to walk away, but, before he returned below the deck, he quickly turned around to face Remy once again before smiling at her in an unnatural way. His lips curled upward so far that it looked as if the corners of his mouth had reached the tip of his earlobes. He bared his teeth at her menacingly and then continued on down the stairs to where James and the others were.
"He's going to kill them... He's going to kill them... He's going to kill them... What do I do?!" She whispered to herself, biting off everyone of her perfectly kept fingernails. What was left was a mess of fingernails on the wooden deck and her fingers which were now bleeding from the excessive biting. Remy shook her head and hurried to get up and go warn the people below the deck about how Chris was acting.
"It's no use... No one will believe you... You're crazy... You all will perish alone out here... There is no escape..."
Remy flinched as the voice kept popping up in her head. Why could she hear the voice? Why did she see Chris out in the water? Why? Remy paid no mind to the voice and continued to head downstairs. The constant whistling of the pipes was the only sound that could be heard down there. No one was talking, no noises were being made, and there was no one moving around. She walked down to James's room and knocked on the door before opening it. Everyone was sitting down normally without any seemingly odd features about them. Jim, Jason, and Callie all struggled to stay awake to watch over their friend who has not yet out of his coma. Remy breathed a sighed of relief and prepared to leave the room to go check on Mark who hasn't been seen for several hours.
"Look behind you..."
Remy shuddered and thought about turning back around to see what was wrong. Nothing good has came from the voice so far, so why would something good happen now? Even so, she quickly spun back around and shut her eyes to prevent herself from looking at her friends.
"Open your eyes or you'll be sorry..."
Remy did as the voice said and slowly opened her eyes. She immediately covered her mouth and began to hyperventilate as she saw what was in front of her. Right beside James at the head of the bed was a dark and shadowy figure. It was hard to make out distinct features of it, but the figure seemed to be stroking the side of James's face with a part of it's nonexistent body. It felt as if the figure had noticed how frightened Remy was because the next thing that happened was that it levitated over to her next. The room was completely silent as the ominous spirit stopped right in front of Remy and began to make sinister whispering noises.
"You smell delicious..."
The hairs on Remy's neck stood up as it felt like the fiendish spirit was scheming something awful. She remained frozen in place until finally the voice spoke once again.
"That blood... It smells divine... I want it..."
Remy couldn't handle it anymore and shouted for Greg to come help her as loudly as she could. The figure let out a low growl and disappeared before her very eyes. As Greg entered the room with beads of sweat rolling down his face and breathing heavily, everyone began to wake up behind Remy. First Jim, then Callie, then Jason, and then finally James all awoke from their sleep or coma. Greg pushed Remy out of the way and hurried over to James's side to question him and see if he needed anything to eat or drink. James didn't respond to his bombardment of questions though and instead pressed his hands against the side of his face and breathe quickly with his eyes open widely.
"How'd I get back here? I thought I was dead!" James cried out...
