My classes passed in a blur, lunch approaching like a rushing wind, maybe to topple over my castle of cards, or maybe to sing along with myself and the wind chimes.
I grabbed the monster from my locker, relaxing my pointed toes as it rested in my hand. My palms were wet with the condensation lining the can.
I ran downstairs and into the cafeteria, sitting with Rebecca and some of her friends. "A monster? Eve i didn't think you—ohhhh! Its for him isn't it?! You star struck little girl!"
I could feel my face visibly heating up, watching Matthew take his seat next to his friend, George willis. Willis didn't matter much though, his tangly golden hair, was nothing compared to the wonderful dark chocolate strands of Matthew Parker.
I stood from my seat and walked nervously to them. "U-uhh....Matthew...?" He looked up from his phone, sparing the short side of a curious glance. "Who are you....?"
Tch. This boy. Did he forget our childhood friendship? Did he forget the drink he spilled on me yesterday? "Oh!! You're the monster girl, right? I you got my drink on your shirt. Yea, whatcha need girly?"
I grinned and gave him the drink. "Yesterday! I said id make it up to you. So here!" I gave him the green drink, smiling brightly. George lent over and mumbled into his ear, bringing Matt to a fairly intent stare.
"Hey, yesterday my drink flavor was watermelon. No big deal. It can be easily fixed. Say, why don't you come sit with me doll?" I gasped almost childishly, and did so, facing outwards. He stood, before crouching in-front if me, coming close. I pulled back slightly, surprised. "Oh cmon, wont let me thank you? All ya gotta do is close your eyes..."
He gripped my hands, a sly smile marking his features as I did what I was told. I was mid giggle when i was interrupted by gasps, before feeling a cold liquid and sharp scent covering me. I could hear the rebounding audio of the drink pouring out, coating my hair, and my clothes, my skin.
My heart stopped and I could hear laughter, tears of embarrassment welling up, begging to run free. They don't deserve that. They don't get to see my tears, not yet. Im not done, nor am i giving up.
My eyes shot open and i looked into his. "Matthew Parker....you're a jerk. But I'm not giving up just yet!"
"On what, doll?"
I shot off before he could catch his response, running off to the girls locker and showering, Rebecca running in soon after with a sweatshirt and some pajama shorts. I got dressed and ran through the day.
